Ridley Scott certainly wasn't forced to cut anything out of the picture. The theatrical is what he wanted.

1) you were never "promised" anything. What are you talking about?
2) Ridley has stated, on several different occasions, that the theatrical cut of Prometheus is essentially the "directors cut".

It really is interesting, what we each consider good or bad generally.

The problem is, a lot of the time it's subjective.

That said - any plot holes or blatant reuse aside, Prometheus is a ****ing cool film.

The pros far outweigh any negatives for me.

Actually - yeah you're right, 'problem' isn't I guess the correct word to use in that context. Diversity of opinion is of course what fuels these boards.

I wonder whether the sequel 'Paradise' (?) will find favour with folks that didn't like Prometheus.
