So how does the cancellation of a line work, anyway?
When a company like Hot Toys acquires the license to a certain movie, do they pay up front? Or do they send part of the earnings to the franchise holder?
If it is the former, then HT would be losing a lot of money by not releasing the figure. If they did release it, even to lukewarm reception, perhaps they could get some of the investment back.
If the latter, do they have some sort of contract that binds them to releasing the figure?

Just speculating, since I've no idea what I'm talking about...

Me neither but I'd imagine there's a lot of different ways this type of contract could work. I'd imagine for the top licenses companies would have to bid and pay top dollar for a license and still have to give them a percentage of their profits.

They seem to be on a two-pack kick all of a sudden with the Chitauri and Hulk/Banner so for all we know they are delaying in order to give us Shaw/Engineer or Shaw with two bodies and suits or something.

My hope was the same , they might do a Shaw, David , and engineer release for the big wow thing but i can only dream.I they make a part 2 i could wait for those figures i guess

They've shown too much of Shaw to back out now, especially with a sequel on the horizon.
