Eh, I could see a blue tinted Robocop from Robocop 2 that is essentially a repaint of these two releases (regular diecast and BD Murphy).

Give it a new paint scheme, lines from Robocop 2

- Ability to speak twelve (12) memorable quotes from the RoboCop 2 movie

● "Thank you, thank you, I'm touched."

● "I'm just fine, thanks for asking."

● "Pity, it's a beautiful morning. Shame to waste it."

● "Ohhh my. This isn't very nice. Though you may think you are having fun now, you, only hurt the one you love. Think of mom and dad. What kind of lesson are you teaching them?"

● "And now a word on nutrition."

● "Bad language makes for . . . bad feelings."

● "I'm having . . . trouble."

● "Your hair looks lovely that way."

● "Isn't the moon wonderful today?"

● "Waste makes haste, for time is fleeting."

● "A rolling stone is worth two in the bush."

● "Thank you for not smoking."

and these swappable parts,

- One (1) interchangeable neon orange spray painted helmet
- One (1) interchangeable neon orange spray painted "Kick Me" back plate armor

The head and face on that animatronic looked so fake.

I remember thinking it looked amazing when I saw it in the theaters. Of course, it WAS 1990. We've come a long way since then.

But Murphy isn't exactly "life-like" anyway, what with his face all stretched out over a robot skull. I thought they did a good job.

I thought they lingered too long on the shots of it. If they pulled away after a few seconds it'd have been more believable.

That and have transitions where they cut over to Peter Weller acting it out in the scene. I can't believe they never pull back to show Weller. It was 1990, it could have been done seamlessly.

Exactly. Tho maybe he simply didn't want to do it so animatronic was used for the whole thing.
Hell, maybe the scene was shot late into production and Weller already was unavailable.

Agreed - good points.

Anybody think this guy could get the DX treatment? It didn't appear that way in the prototype, and there may not be enough accessories to justify it, but RoboCop, at least to me, is significant enough to warrant it.

I guess I'm just kicking around ideas for DX16 and so on.

DX PERS system is to hit and miss for my taste, some times it looks bad, some times it looks ok and on others it looks fine, but it never looks as good as painted eyes. It adds some extra pose options, but it also can cause weird seams to the head sculpt.

Agreed. This sculpt is a homerun. No need to potentially mess it up w/PERS. Personally I don't see wanting his eyes posed anything other than dead ahead, anyway. Wouldn't add any display options for me.

Great minds:lecture

Thanks for the rep:duff tried to return the favor, but I have to spread it around first:slap
