Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

After seeing some of the pics in here of BD Robo with regular Robo's BD helmet on, I decided to buy a second BD Robo off of eBay for $250 shipped, so I could make Robo's crawling escape. Thankfully he can get pretty close the the movie pose for crawling away. The only thing that really needs to happen to nail the pose it to modify his left hand to lay flat on the ground. I may get an extra hand some time to do that.

The only mod I did do was to spray the neck and chin part dull, but I haven't grayed them at all yet.

Eventually I will paint the helmet to match the BD body more closely, I'll add a backdrop of the cops shooting at him, and maybe get a HT ED 209 again to stalk him from behind.

Nicely done!

Yoshi, they could be production stills. Gorgeous.

Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

I picked up BD Robo from Popcultcha this month, and I have to say that detail-wise it's the most impressive figure I have. The headsculpt is out of this world.

Diecast Robo was the first sixth scale I bought. RoboCop is my favourite film. It's still my prize piece. I never expected to start a collection, so I chose the clean version over the BD version, thinking I would only ever have one. Now that I have 11 sixth scales (and several on pre order) I made the call to pick up the BD version.

It was well worth it. The figure is incredible. I especially enjoy how the worn finish on his black parts (and his gun) is more accurate to the way the suit looked in the first film. The colouring of his grey parts is an improvent too.

And like I said, the head sculpts is uncanny.

My phone doesn't do it justice (I think the low lighting is resulting in a longer exposure which is leading to softer details), but here are a couple of shots I took.

I love getting a good walking pose out of Robo.

Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

The likeness on this figure is just flat our ridiculous. Why didn't Keaton get this sort of love?

Is this HT's best HS ever? I really think it's equal (or a bit better) than EB's BD Arnie.

Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

This figure is part of the BEST OF THE BEST HT catalog. Shared with Jack Sparrow, DX 13 IMO

Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

Sparrow is cool looking, I just don't care at all for the character, so I'm biased. Great Likeness though.

DX 13 is LOADED. Like, a dream come true for a T2 fan. But the Likeness was not/is not great, at least not as good as EB's. Amazing release though, one of the best.

Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

Imo Alex Murphy and BD Robo sculpt are as close to perfection HT have come. I wish they had nailed BD Arnie from T1 like they did with this set.

Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

Robocop is a unique Hot Toys line - one where I am completely happy with the sculpts - any inaccuracies there may be are at a tolerable level for me. I wish I could say the same for Terminator but I can't.

Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

You wonder though when that day comes when BD Robocop looks outdated!

I'm pretty happy with my DX10, but yeah, I agree that the RoboCop figures approach perfection. If the diecast figure had better colouring I would have no complaints. Still my favourite figure, regardless.

I think the Keaton faceplates are solid, but the BW headsculpt leaves setting to be desired.

In my collection, BD Robo is the best headsculpt by a wide margin.

Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

I finally picked this set up a couple months ago and it is no doubt some of HT best work. Not as fancy as the jack sparrow DX but maybe just a smidge better likeness. Coincidentally I also grabbed the EB 800 and 1000 during that blowout sale. The arnie head is great, but the damaged arm sucks as does the damage to the chest and knee. Still a great fig. I also love the donut head.

Re: Hot Toys "RoboCop (Battle Damaged Ver) & Alex Murphy Collectible Figures Set

Unless you are a HUGE Depp fan, I never understood the fascination with the Jack figure. I mean, it's nice, but it's no Murphy or Arnie, you know?

Oh well.
