Once again (movie) its another one of those cases where you wonder why the hell theyd even need to call this film "Robocop"

If you want it all to look drastically different then maybe change the freaking name too.

The first ED to actually cause ED. Very sad.

I maintain that it looks reasonably sucky by todays reboot suck standards. It's not total suck.

The new Ed looks pretty cool to me actually and more realistic. I am just not crazy about the gargantuan size. That is just one of those knucklehead decisions "I know how to make it cooler, make it four times bigger". Which kind of defeats the purpose of having it patrol city streets that it's too big to be walking down. I'm a fan of Verhoeven's work on RoboCop, Total Recall and Starship Troopers (all of which are buing remade by the greedy asses in HW) but there was a cheezy factor to them that wouldn't play today. That said, hopefully HT will release another version of the original ED.

While I'm still on the fence about this film, with respect to your comment above, it COULD be that they made it huge for just the reason you mentioned. Remember the first ED-209 was all style over substance. The massive grill on the front was cool looking, but essentially a massive bulls eye for anyone confronting it. It wasn't designed to be useful at all.

It could very well be that the filmmakers of the new film were thinking the same thing by making it massive and therefore completely useless in it's ability to patrol the streets of Detroit.

Girls outnumbered boys I take it. Surprised they would have shown Robocop anyway with its violence. Maybe they realised its content and regretted putting it in as an option then rigged the vote!

I was hoping that they would show the RoboCop 2 Cain!

In my dream world they would have had a massive display with Cain and Robo Cop.

They would've had the Hulk with Iron Monger

They would have had the Bat with Bane and Catwoman.

And maybe even some Prometheus figures.

Oh well.
