It was forced. No one in real does that. People don't just start kissng their friends for the first time when they are with company like that.

I don't really care but in MY experience i would have to disagree. No biggie anyway it was just like 5 seconds out the film and we are taking away from talk about Jyn.

This exclusive Jyn sculpt definitely looks different and better to me than the original Jyn sculpt.

They were on display fairly close to one another at Celebration so I was comparing them and the Imperial version was definitely different and slightly better than the other version to me.

I usually prefer to avoid contributing to the sidetracking of a thread, but the notion of anyone suggesting the prequels were superior to TFA is absurd to me. My fondness towards TFA has nothing to do with nostalgia or "brand loyalty". It is simply an entertaining Star Wars adventure film. Notice the emphasis on the word "film". The prequels have good ideas in the core of their scripts, but nearly all of them are poorly executed or never fully realized when it came time to tell a cinematic story. While I acknowledge that TFA has revisited many themes from the OT and that many hoped to see a more progressive story, to me that doesn't change the fact it is a hugely entertaining movie that introduces us to likeable and complicated characters.

Perhaps on paper the prequels are more interesting. However, they simply aren't well conceived films. I don't hate the prequels, but since the Star Wars saga is first and foremost a cinematic experience I consider a lot of what they presented to us a failure. As a film, TFA hits all the right notes for me. It's direction, pacing, effects, and music all helped make me believe in the world I saw before me. So if there is any nostalgia influencing my preference of TFA over the prequels, it's because it made me feel the same way the OT did when I first saw those films. Like this world was real and I wanted to be a part of it.

Anyway, I saw this figure at Celebration and I thought it was pretty nice. But as someone stated earlier in the thread, she really doesn't do much in the movie while in this outfit. That's why I don't think I can justify having two of this particular character and I certainly wouldn't choose it over the first deluxe outfit.

Yes, it's quite silly when someone acts as if they speak for why others like a film as if they're the authority on someone else's opinions. Best to disregard such nonsense.

But the two Jyn figures do indeed look great. I was leaning toward just picking up the Deluxe but now plan on owning both.

The sculpts look very different to me as well, but the description for this Jyn clearly says that it’s a repaint!

A newly painted head sculpt with authentic and detailed likeness of Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

I mean, yeah, it could just be poor wording on HT’s/Sideshow’s part, but to me it seems to clearly say that the paint is what’s new for the sculpt.

BTW, I’m on TFA’s side here. For me it was hugely entertaining and immensely emotionally gratifying. It has a lot of heart and I really cared about the characters and the journey they’re taking. I enjoyed RO as well, but for very different reasons. But if I had to choose between the two, it’s TFA all the way.

To my eye too! I have a hard time accepting that it is the same sculpt. At first I thought perhaps they updated the regular Jyn sculpt like they did the Han sculpt before release, and what we’re seeing with this disguise version is the production sculpt for the regular Jyn.

But they’re showing the same sculpt we’ve seen before on the regular Jyn, so that theory is out the window!

That's why I said the sculpts looked different "to my eye." ;) If it really is the same sculpt then HT did a good job of fooling me with the paint apps.

What you might find is the "old" sculpt is a resin cast of the prototype, and the new "proto" of the imperial one is the final sculpt(For both), so it will have minor differences, but in a good way. And will likely represent the final sculpt for both.

I feel the need to chime in, the notion that anyone that feels like another's preference on subjective art is absurd is in itself absurd to me. We are talking about "film" ya know, a movie - your preference doesn't negate someone else's.

I never said my preference would or should negate someone else's. It's as you stated, my preference. I believe I was pretty clear about that. That I, me, find the aforementioned notions absurd. So what part of my original post led you to believe I was attempting to "negate" other people's preferences/opinions?

yo what's up with

- People talking about prequels, they suck. Let's move on.

- People talking about this outfit barely being used. Jyn put this shiz on when it was GO TIME, the most exciting and climactic part of the movie was when she threw this covert shiz on and infiltrated the base, a do or die situation, a going all out, geronimo.. curahee type mission. If you want her more used outfit okay word up das cool. But downlplaying this one doesn't make any sense. She looks bad *** in this disguise bro!!! DO YOU EVEN WEAR DISGUISES BRO!? C'MAAAAN. *throws prequel action figures around* I feel like I don't even know you guys any more. Complain to complain. *pulls head off Qui Gon Jyn* you made me do this.

I'm still sticking with the Deluxe. Sculpt, jacket. All looking pretty good !

Thanks for the info on the sculpts, guys. Deluxe for me but it's that "better"* looking head sculpt on the exclusive and the possibility of swapping the sculpts that has me contemplating getting it as well. Or perhaps I just buy that sculpt loose after release...

You said that it was absurd to prefer prequels over tfa, but whatever it doesn't matter.

I'm going to keep jyn with her helmet on, if I like this face better than the deluxe in person than I'll swap it into the deluxe.

No, I said the thought of anyone suggesting they were superior to TFA was absurd to me. I made no mention of personal preferences. People will like what they like. Nothing wrong with that. However, objectivity must be kept in mind when publicly suggesting one thing is superior or inferior to another. I believe it is important to recognize that distinction.

This might be an idea I can get behind because the Imperial Ground Crew outfit and helm are pretty cool on their own. It would be a bonus to potentially have a better Jyn sculpt option for the regular release.
