The gloves/hands that come with this figure.

I'm resigning myself to be without a Vader for a while. I stupidly cancelled the preorder thinking it'll be in stock for a bit. Oh well, maybe the ESB or RotJ version will have some fancy parts I like more.

If you're adamant you want this version, just wait until ESB Vader gets announced. People who are essentially using their R1 Vaders as a makeshift ESB Vader will unload them for cheaper than what they're going for now.

As others have also mentioned, my surmise is that you'll see a proto for ESB Vader at SDCC.

I have no real need for an official ESB Vader now that I have Rogue One. They'll add additional chestbox light up features but I don't really care about that.

Kept the gloves from my HT RO Vader, and the figure is up for sale on FB groups and Rebelscum. He will come with my JazzInc ANH modded gloves, which are better than stock, by having used cool double sided tape. I would really like to keep him next to my ANH, but no enough place for display alas.

I've been holding out for Empire Vader and I'm with Wor-Gar - I'm thinking it will be announced by SDCC.

I am thinking now with the announcement of ROTJ Jedi Luke and ROTJ Emperor that they might go ahead with ROTJ Vader.

I'd prefer ESB personally so I'm still hoping for that. Maybe HT will do what SS did and just make a generic ESB/ROTJ Vader with full reveal helmet.

OR --

How about this:

Regular = ESB Vader
Deluxe = ROTJ Vader with reveal head

That way, OCD'ers have to buy both! Now that's HT thinking.

But I see HT holding that RotJ Vader "Ace card" for a while, making sure that the suckers... er... collectors purchase plenty of ESB Vaders first.

I want ESB Vader as well. The RotJ Vader reveal noggin is not a big deal for me. For now...

Good point with possibly just going right to RotJ Vader. HT doesn't really seem to have a set pattern where they're doing everything ESB first, then moving on to RotJ. They're releasing both at the same time sort of back and forth and like you said, with them doing a RotJ Luke, Emperor and Royal Guard, they may just complete the display and go right to RotJ Vader. Regardless of when it comes though, I'd wager that their RotJ Vader will likely include an Anakin sculpt.

You guys sure seem certain that they'll announce an ESB Vader.

Sideshow has been clearly advertising their "RoTJ" Vader as an ESB version, given that their promotional photos involve the Carbon Freezing Chamber lighting. I don't know if Hot Toys will be producing an ESB Vader while Sideshow's lackluster product is still sold.

You can use blue poster tack to hold the head on the SS body that's what I had to do. It's actually very secure.

That's an interesting idea. Howard did say there were two more DXs coming. I don't believe him, but if its true, then Vader DX would definitely be one of them.
