Hot Toys ROTJ Emperor Palpatine

Would anyone buy the guards without an Emperor (outside those who are sticking with SS)? I think HT would best be served to do four releases:

Single Emperor
Single Guard
Emperor/Guard two pack.
Guard two pack

I guess the two Guard pack works for a Vader setup from Rogue One.

Especially when they have recently knocked it out of the park for other arguably harder portraits. I honestly wonder if HT listens to the fans and collectors. No doubt they have decided on a certain scene or photo from the film with him smiling. They can try all they want to achieve that photo likeness, but is it the right moment wanted by the fans or collectors to depict the emperor.

I'm sure asking people at a Con yields the same sort of standard positive answers. Looks great. Amazing etc etc. HT should do a poll on sites like this for some honest feedback. A poll can cut out all the comments, but give a real indication of what's wanted. I mean look at JazzInc. Joost did a poll to see which diorama was most wanted. Logical.

What was the story there ? They changed from Fatman to ripped Batman ? If so that is great news ! In that particular case I actually got caught out. I saw the pictures and thought no way am I getting a batman like that ! Hadn't actually made my mind up to get the Trifecta (Batman, Superman & WW), and ended up missing out on him totally.

Was probably a good thing in the end as the Justice League WW and Superman look like they will be a big improvement over BvS versions.

To cover my bets with Batman I did manage to get a BvS Batman. I think he is the best out there, and looks to be still better than Justicew League version.

Anyway, that was my little DC experience. Back on point, I really hope HT do listen and conduct more Polls.

Yeah, it was the switch from the "Fatman" body to the ripped body. They also changed the sculpt on BvS Wonder Woman. The prototype was essentially an idealized portrait of WW, and while the production sculpt wasn't 100% Gadot, it looked way more like her than the proto sculpt.

I'm def getting Emperor. The question for me is the throne. Since its coming with lightning, I could just display him shooting lightning and save $150....

Can his hood be pulled more forward to further conceal his forehead?

Yeah, If I get this it will be with the throne, gotta have it and it's a great stand alone display, but I'm still on the fence with this sculpt, I like that he is "sneering" although I'd like to see an improved sculpt. The sneering allows for action poses which I think gives you more options for posing this guy. If They don't improve the sculpt, I guess I could bring that hood farther over.

The sculpt is far from what price and expectations warrant, but the predecessors are not fantastic. Although I still think Sideshow's (to the right)at 90 dollar back in the day and with acceptable McDiarmid likeness still is the best 1:6 emperor out there.

I'm going to put Rey's lightsaber on his throne armrest for that "Come, girl, see for yourself - from here you will witness the final destruction of the Resistance" moment.

What I can't work out is why they would do a smiling sculpt, and also give the force lightening (see below latest pic from catalogue). The "smile" definitely needs to be a sneer. Looks like Palpy is very happy to be finally heading for PO.

And Bill and Ted are happy to have him too.
