You all asked for better products and InArt brought them. You all seemed to want these better products at no extra cost, which is unrealistic - so now everything is more expensive across premium brands like HT and IA because it can be. You take the good with the bad tbh.
No one really asked for Hot Toys to make a new artificially limited “premium” line so they can charge collectors more for fancy hair. Which is still untested and an unknown quantity to us as of now.
Same way no one really asked for Iron Man figures to incorporate cheap pot metal diecast parts just so they can start jacking up prices. I know some wanted diecast but they probably wouldn’t have asked if they knew prices would go up that much.
And while it is true quality comes at a cost, 1) we don’t know if Hot Toys can deliver actual quality on these yet and 2) up until artisan, Hot Toys did improve their figures which were lagging behind at no major cost increase with features like improved materials, moving eyes, USB, etc.
InArt competition helped with that. But now they’re just using the hype to push a new line of figures that don’t have any additional improvements beyond the hair aside from Joker.
If the artisan releases all had specially designed bodies, real leather, improved tailoring, full diorama stands, etc. then there’d be fewer complaints even if the price was much higher.
