And that picture of the Rescue Cap, should silence any more of the absurd criticism of this figure's likeness. That is Chris Evans. If you disagree then prove it with a valid photo comparison, not just more complaints.

Jaw needs to be more square, less oblong, and his eyes should be squintier. Cheekbones should be more pronounced too. Oh, and his neck should be more muscular, Evans was ripped for that role, the neck is too skinny.

Right now, the sculpt looks like Chris Evans brother is dressing up as Cap to get some convention poon. :monkey1

Just going through the motions here.

There are SOME Evans features in that sculpt. But that is certainly NOT a Jack Sparrow we got here.

Been trying to convince myself like some of you, but I just don't have that ability.

Re: Hot Toys – SDCC 2012 Ex - Captain America TFA: Captain America Rescue Version

Angelica and Gordon look stunning. Why does Evans have a butt chin? He doesn't have one in the comparison pic or a few others I googled.

Re: Hot Toys – SDCC 2012 Ex - Captain America TFA: Captain America Rescue Version

The sculpt has always been great, the one complaint I have is the hair needs to be a little bit lighter but I don't really care as he looks awesome with the helmet on.

Oh and the chin. :lol

Well the rumour just became reality:

Thanks for posting this Star Puffs.

I think that this set of three photos highlights how a paint job can make or break a figure's realism. This is, by far and away, the best of the Chris Evans sculpts out of all of them, without question. but it is let down by the paint application.

That is clear to see from the ultra real paint apps on Gordon and Angelica. They look like photos from the set. Is it too late to change it now? Probably, sadly...and that is a shame. I can only assume it is because of its 'finally but still rushed' nature.

As I said, just going through the motions here.

WOW! What a line-up! That trio looks fantastic! :clap

Re: Hot Toys – SDCC 2012 Ex - Captain America TFA: Captain America Rescue Version

Most likely gonna cancel this one. Head sculpt just didn't do it for me and then along came Jim Gordon. Wow.

I agree that the paint certainly throws the likeness in that helmetless shot, especially with the weird shine (which seems absent otherwise).

Clearly he has one of those faces that is hard to capture perfectly. I mean I look at photos of him on Google and his jaw looks squarer in one shot and more angled in the next. His smile alters his look dramatically as well. I do not envy the sculptors task.

Hot Toys and Sideshow probably made a mistake on the pricing of this one. Even at $200 I feel they would have seen more demand.

I have to say for all the flack this sculpt takes, it is probably the equal of Angelica and better than the Gordon. That Gordon just does not look like Gary Oldman to me. It is a stunning sculpt on a technical level, noticeably better than this head, but the head has the wrong basic shape and cheek structure of how I envision Oldman.

Re: Hot Toys – SDCC 2012 Ex - Captain America TFA: Captain America Rescue Version

It's unfortunate that the new Batman figure has such a high level of detail in terms of sculpt, costume and accessories but is only $40 more expensive than Cap; which by comparison looks like a basic figure with a shield. They would've done very well with $184.99.

I think Sideshow and Hot Toys engaged in some exclusive premium pricing.

I am sure they know this is a $180 range figure based on comparable offerings, but decided they could charge the high-end (Loki) of the non-DX figure range. They are gouging us instead of the scalpers.

Of course Sideshow actually thinks people will by that Star Wars Snowtrooper cannon for $150, so who know what their business strategy is?

No hi-res pics of this figure yet?

Re: Hot Toys – SDCC 2012 Ex - Captain America TFA: Captain America Rescue Version

Man I really wanted this figure but Im starting to come to the realization that when you've got kids and bills and a mortgage $200+ is just waaaay too much for a toy no matter how cool. Stoopid adult reponsibilities!!!
