The reason it might be rubber is so they can mold the raised webbing and just paint it. If they are gonna go with cloth, no way are they going to take the time and add the raised webbing and you will have a figure like the medicom spiderman 2 with cloth and printed on webbing, and medicom's spiderman 3 that was vinyl with painted on webbing.
I do hope its made out of cloth and tight fitting like DX04 Bruce Lee's dark blue outfit.

I wonder like the Spider-Man 3 collectibles from years ago, if these will become unwanted soon enough. Everyone was so excited for sideshow's new Spidey 3 collectibles, but now they seem to be just well unwanted.

If they HT does the raised webbing, fabric suit, and great articulation it will definitely be wanted by me.

i like spider man and i am waiting very patiently for some updates on the hot toys spider man line.
Yep, I definitely like Spidey and can't wait to see HT's take on him. I was hoping the recent HT newsletter would have some info but nope.
Nothing much to talk about at this point but hoping for info soon.

It bet its pretty soon. Either this or RE: AL will probably be the next new license figures. We did just get the Expendables and they were announced along with this (although I think this was also announced last year with Avatar 
).

I imagine one of the more difficult decisions HT has involves the mask. Otherwise, it is a relatively easy figure to do IMO.

hot toys 2 in 1 superman has a cloth suit, with raised rubber piping on it. i think it's a good indication of what we can expect from Spidey.

I like your ideas. For sake of conversation, how exactly does the masked head get 'tucked' into the rest of the costume for a seamless appearance?

we're going to have to make some concessions on that. the CLOSEST way to make that work would be to do something like what was done with the sideshow snake eyes figure.
Make the neck of the suit long enough so that it gets tucked into the neck socket. Cover a blank head with a cloth mask that cannot be removed, and have the material go into the neck socket a little bit as well.
This will leave a little bit of an exposed joint, but as it follows the natural contour of the head, and is underneath the jawline, it's as hidden as it possibly can be.
