Didn't Hot Toys indicate they'd stay away from other manufacturers' (ie Sideshow) figures that they are currently working on or just released? Should we expect, HT to hold off on R2-D2, C-3PO, Biker Scout / Speeder Bike, ROTJ Vader, Red Five X-Wing Pilot Luke, etc. for a while?

Didn't Hot Toys indicate they'd stay away from other manufacturers' (ie Sideshow) figures that they are currently working on or just released? Should we expect, HT to hold off on R2-D2, C-3PO, Biker Scout / Speeder Bike, ROTJ Vader, Red Five X-Wing Pilot Luke, etc. for a while?

HT Vader would sell incredibly. Picture their paint apps on a reveal head? For Vader, I'd want ANH version first.

I love this Hot Toys announcement, but really hope the Vader isn't 1/6th. I've got both SS versions.
Jack, please let me know if I should sell Lando, Leia, Obi, and Stormtrooper! I listened and canceled Hoth Han bc you mentioned this was coming.

Probably fine as I'm sure they've got an agreement so that Hot Toys only shows their figures once Sideshow has sold off the remaining inventory of their own. And that would really only be necessary for recent stuff - there's plenty of subject matter in the back catalog that can be tackled. It's in both their best interests not to compete. And as they're HT's distributor for a significant portion of the collecting community, they're still making money - look at how they've already pushed out a Han and Chewie newsletter.

I don't know that SS would care as much as we think they would. They've already made money on the figures they've produced. With a little coordination from Lucasfilm there shouldn't be a direct conflict on the market at the same time. And there's still a huge untapped cast of OT and PT characters that haven't been made.

They probably have an understanding and its not like they can. Regardless they are still one of, if not, The main seller of HT other than Hot Toys themselves so they still make a crap load of money off of them. And what can they say really, its Disney that's really letting it happen and SS has a lot more to lose by saying something than by not Lol

Pixel, what do you think the odds of them doing an ANH Vader is? From what you said, I'd assume it was more likely than the newer Vader Sideshow released.

Well since Chan already mentioned it, and it was a given, Vader is happening, soon from what my source says, and also remember HT is NOT restricted by SS anymore so anything can be revisited or newly made. There should be a Jedi version of a character to tie the OT to EPVII coming along before VII is released.

Any more hints on other characters?
