Pixel, what do you think the odds of them doing an ANH Vader is?

Makes more sense than ESB/RotJ if they want to maximize the number of sales. It'll likely still be an easy pass for me though. ;)

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Figures from Episode I-VII + New Interviews

HT also said that if there was a character they felt they could do better they'd do it lol

Sent from the Cockpit of the Millenium Falcon

That's every character SS has ever done.

ROTJ Luke from HT would be insane.

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Figures from Episode I-VII + New Interviews

So veteran 1/6 Star Wars collectors, are you keeping ANY of the Sideshow Star Wars preorders that are currently up (R2-D2, Scout Trooper, Speeder Bike, Jango Fett, etc) or any of the forthcoming figures (Red Five X-Wing Pilot Skywalker, C-3PO, etc.)?

That's what I want most of all.

Wondering too if they will do anymore DX SW figs or just MMS.

Yup. All of them. Things could change if Hoth Han and Luke don't survive the production process, but I'm not jumping ship before it hits the iceberg.

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Figures from Episode I-VII + New Interviews

For me I'm still keeping my preorders for R2D2, Scout Trooper and Jango Fett.
I'm still very happy with the Sideshow figures I have and I doubt they will get around to doing those figures anytime soon.
I'm pretty set on the characters I want and wouldn't buy just because it's hot toys...
I would definately get a hot toys Vader and Fett, even though I have the SS versions.
But thats is all I'll buy.

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Figures from Episode I-VII + New Interviews

There's no reason why HT and SS can't mix and match. Personally, Id be fine if HT focused mostly on the humans and SS focused on Droids and non-human aliens for the most part.

Right now I'd really like to see the humans first in 1:6 scale, although I'm sure Vader and at least one Trooper will be in the mix. Hopefully they'll cover the core OT and PT human characters before the inevitable onslaught of Ep VII figs starts.
My short list:
OT
Luke Skywalker (Ep IV Farmboy with younger face, lighter hair color, Ep VI Jedi look)
Princess Leia (Ep IV princess gown, Ep VI Slave with seamless or low-seam body)
Han Solo (Bespin)
Lando Calrissian (Bespin with smiling "old smoothy" change-o head)
Old Ben
Emperor

PT
Anakin Skywalker (EpII Padawan, Ep III Jedi and Sith)
Padme Amidala (Naboo Queen, Geonosis Arena with damaged outfit)
Obi-Wan (Ep I Padawan, Ep II Knight, Ep III Master)
Qui-Gon
Mace Windu
Dooku
Darth Maul
Palpatine (Ep II Chancellor/Ep III Sidious)

Would also like to see
Yoda (Ep V crazy hermit/Ep III Jedi master--SS's are good but I think HT will outdo)
Royal Guard/Senate Guard
Aayla Secura
Oola
Shaak-Ti
Wampa (real fur like Chewbacca)

Jedi Luke would be more than welcome. Was my first ever 1/6 figure when SSC kicked off their line back in 2004. It would really make for a good comparison shot to illustrate where were coming from with the high end 1/6 scale Star Wars licence

Okay, thanks for the responses. I think the ROTJ Vader I have looks great and so do the R2-D2, Scout Trooper & Speeder Bike I have on order, I just don't know what you veterans know in terms of what to expect of a quality upgrade from SS to HT. I figure HT has a better core/base body, from what I hear, and I definitely know HT will do better face sculpts. So, I figure out of what I have and have on order, the only real improvement I might see is with an unmasked Vader? Hard for me to see how HT can improve on R2-D2, C-3PO, Scout Trooper and the Speeder Bike though.

Yeah... I mean I'm not the pickiest collector and really do enjoy sideshows stuff.
I would buy Vader and Fett just because they are my favorite characters and design...really hope they do these two figures in 1/4 scale as it would make more buyers...many have the 1/6th scale SS versions.

But who knows. It is a great day for Star Wars collectibles nonetheless.

Hot Toys releases change nothing with respect to other announced characters for this guy. Especially considering I think the recently announced Han looks sub-par and less than half as good as its price wold warrant.

Good to hear, I guess I'll keep my orders in tact. Suppose I can always sell them later (for less than what I paid) if Hot Toys announces something better...

I hoped Jedi Luke would have been their first figure like it was with Medicom and Sideshow.

Sub par? Hardly. Compared to some referen photos, the likeness looks really good.

Which ones?

Once somebody posted comparisons with '77 Ford as Han Solo, it became even more apparent that this was a miss.
