Which ones?

Once somebody posted comparisons with '77 Ford as Han Solo, it became even more apparent that this was a miss.

These ones:

He needs some work. Not a lot. I guess imperfect and sub-par are synonymous in Nerdhistrionicland.

I remember reading Chan saying they were going to coordinate their releases along with sideshows so that both weren't going to do the same figures at the same time. So the SS releases like pilot Luke and Scout trooper are not on their list to make I'd guess.

That is correct. But Hot Toys is off and running now and will be doing many, many characters.

I revealed (in so many words) that Hot Toys would be getting the SW license many, many months ago. And Mr. Know-It-All on the forums said it would never happen. That I was an ***** (in so many words). He still bashes everything Hot Toys does. I just don't get it. What's the point?

Glad to see the first two figures have been revealed. I've seen better (candid) photos of both. What's throwing off the Han in the photos is the dark hair and dark eyes. Both are lighter/correct in the photos I've seen. The Chewbacca portrait is being fine tuned. It's basically just a simple fur suit he's wearing, just like the real costume. I don't know why SS said it would be so tough to create. They've have the license for like a decade and haven't done it. Yeesh.

From what I've been told by a pal at Disney, there are ELEVEN more OT SW characters in development at HT right now, and the goal is to release the majority of them before the new movie hits. 6 are from ANH, 2 from Empire, 3 from Jedi. I won't spoil who they are. There are no prequel figure in development and there are no plans to do them. It's all OT and Ep VII.

People complain about iron man releases, wait till they get a load of this license...

Dang, only two from Empire, hey. Guessing Vader would make it into the ANH club and maybe Jedi. Hopefully those two from Empire are Han and Chewie! Feel free to spoil the surprise via PM, bob! :D

Glad to hear the PT's getting totally frozen out. *rubs hands in glee*

Poorhouse, here I come!

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Figures from Episode I-VII + New Interviews

PT will be phased out next year and beyond for pretty much everything SW re licensed products.

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Figures from Episode I-VII + New Interviews

I'd rather see ESB Han and Leia.
Ah, yes, good point. I was thinking even as I wrote that two Chewies back-to-back is redundant. Han and Leia would be pretty cool. Leia definitely deserves to be made and it would be kind of poetic if they were the sole figures (for now) from ESB. But if there's only two figures, it's hard to imagine that HT would skip Boba Fett... unless of course they go for his ROTJ look, since only Medicom has done it and it's been years and years. Maybe your prediction will come true, devil!

Good riddance! Burn in hell, PT! :lol

Vader is being released, obviously, but not twice next year.

Yeah, forgot we're talking about a pretty small window of time. Hope it's the ANH version. I'd really like to see that look done to a T. So long as they don't idealize him and make his mask symmetrical.

Given the rapid release schedule, I'm guessing we won't see any doubles (unless a 2nd Han from ESB is in Carbonite -- I'd be down for that). Fun to speculate on this stuff.

Re: Hot Toys - STAR WARS 1/6th & 1/4th Figures from Episode I-VII + New Interviews

That's all I'll say. But you better believe that SW is in good hands and there's some amazing, next-level stuff coming from Hot Toys!
