I am aware of 11 new in development. That would be a collection of 14 HT 1/6 SW figures by Q1 2016 including the ANH Han Solo, ANH Chewbacca and Bespin Luke Skywalker. And that is just scratching the surface of what Star Wars can do. The Ep VII stuff is a whole new thing on top of that!

Without spilling too much, of the 11 still in development, are they unique characters or will some be different versions of the same character?

As great as Chewie looks, my preference is for a RotJ version to go with all the jabbas's palace figs I have. Not sure if that will ever happen though.

No PT figures is interesting. If true, that's the nail in the coffin for the clones in my eyes. I was very tempted to get the deluxe Utapau and 501st, but I need a HT Anakin and Obi Wan to go with them.

Why has Howard been droning on about ROTS Anakin for three years if there are no PT figures on the cards? I say make Mace, Qui-Gon, Maul, Dooku, ROTS Kenobi and Anakin and be done with it.

I definitely want to see a HT Farmboy Luke and Leia. For Ep V there'd better be a Lando in the mix. I'm less interested in Stormtroopers, Boba and Droids since SS has done a serviceable job on those.
I really hope the PT rumors are erroneous. Why cut off so many potential sales? I grew up on the OT, but my kids grew up on PT.

Well, I am almost sure that they will release a Darth Vader but it will be in 1/4 scale as this is a new, unique version different from the 1/6th scale of sideshows.
I mean, I like the sideshow version a lot and sure it can have improvements but it is amazing nonetheless and I wouldn't be as excited to have another sixth scaled version. But to expand that 1/4 scale and really make a statement with this Star Wars line would be to release the most iconic villain in 1/4 scale.
I think the same may go for Boba Fett.

In interviews HT Rep's kind of hinted they wouldn't be doing anything that SS has released recently...

When was that interview? I'm wondering if the "reannouncement" of the Star Wars license at SDCC means they now have more freedom to do what they want, when they want...?

I think people are getting confused between the old arrangement HT had with SSC (which was they could only re-do something SSC had done in the past) and their new license. They can make anything they want now (subject to Disney, obviously) but out of common interest aren't going to do something stupid like announce a Scout Trooper and Bike, tomorrow. Should be common sense they'll want to keep a good relationship w/Sideshow as well as maximize their own sales.

For ANH, my guesses are the most obvious, but if they're cranking them out before Ep VII comes premieres (and presumably takes some of the focus off the OT), I think they'll go with Vader, Farmboy Luke, Obi-Wan & Princess Leia (in addition to Han & Chewie). Edit: If we're talking a total of eight from ANH, including Han & Chewie, add Stormtrooper and possibly Tarkin to my list. That to me would be pretty exhaustive. Can't think of another character that I'd need HT to do from the original.

For ESB, my hope would be Han in Carbonite and Boba Fett.

ROTJ, it's already been hinted that Jedi Luke is one of the three. Guessing one would be Emperor, but then it doesn't make sense to exclude Vader (likewise makes no sense to include Vader after SSC has just sold a boatload of ESB/ROTJ Vaders). Gonna cop out on this one. Jedi's my least favourite and aside from the Biker Scouts and Speeder Bike, there is little I want from the movie. Maybe Emperor and Royal Guards is all I would need to represent that film, but can't see HT wasting a slot on Guards.

Yeah, it's totally been like that.

During this period - there's only so much discussion one can offer though, without it getting circular. I'm mainly checking in, & just selectively reading - & maybe responding to something that's worth replying to. Regardless of all the loopy passengers on the hype train cackling like crazy parrots, this new HT Han is so mine it's not funny.

From what I've been told by a pal at Disney, there are ELEVEN more OT SW characters in development at HT right now, and the goal is to release the majority of them before the new movie hits. 6 are from ANH, 2 from Empire, 3 from Jedi. I won't spoil who they are. There are no prequel figure in development and there are no plans to do them. It's all OT and Ep VII.

Great news, just catching up here.

ANH: Leia, Luke, Vader, Stormtrooper, Tarkin, Ben

ESB: Yoda, Boba Fett

ROTJ: Emperor, Jabba, General Lando
