I'd like to see them announce the 11 (13) OT figures and at least 6 PT figures. I think folks are worried that somehow if HT produces PT figures it will somehow take away from the number of OT pieces. That may well be true for some of the 2nd tier licenses that have been getting squeezed out by Iron Man and Batman, but Star Wars is practically a license to print money. HT puts their resources into what sells. And what is going to sell into the forseeable future is going to be Star Wars (I-IX), Marvel (Avengers, GotG, Spiderman and maybe even X-Men) and DC (Batman, Superman, Justice League). Those are going to be HT's front line licenses.
All the other lines will the second and third tier, and the number of pieces produces is going to reflect that. It seems to me HT has significantly stepped up the number of figures they are producing in the last couple of years, so 11 OT figures does not sound as outrageous to me as it might have a few years ago. I think the Luke Skywalker DX was basically HT's audition for the license. That's why it took so long between that release and the Han&Chewy announcement.

It would only be insane because they'd be going up against their key partner in Sideshow. In terms of sales a Vader figure with Hot Toys written all over the box would be a big win regardless.

I disagree. Yeah, they'll still sell a lot, but a ton of people will be fatigued with another ESB/ROTJ Vader (I know I would -- same as I don't want to see an HT 3PO for a long time) and make due with what they have. I just don't think it'll happen. Also, marketing wise, it seems smarter to release ANH Vader w/Jedi Luke, so you have people investing in two product lines in the same franchise. ROTJ Luke/Vader combo might be a one and done purchase for a lot of people. Don't think HT is going to make it that easy.

I know of only 2 other figs in full development right now. My source never said anything about 11 figs revealed before the end of 2015. I know they have designs and concept art for way more than that. If I had to make an educated guess based on some very reliable info I would say we will see about 5-6 OT figs revealed(including Han and Chewie) and 1 or 2 PT, before we start seeing Ep VII stuff mixed in. And from what I've heard HT EpIII Anakin is still coming. I may be wrong but my contact seems pretty sure.

Well, that's great news as far as I'm concerned!
We need ROTS Anakin and Obi Wan, as well as Maul, at the very least.

Maul is the only PT figure I might be tempted by (aside from Grievous' IG guards -- but I fully expect SSC to make those).

Maul would be so good. medicom one is hard to find now. I think we all want to reenact all the best lightsaber fights (maul vs qui-gon and Obi-wan, Obi-wan vs Anakin, etc.)

And we're all agreed that HT won't be making Grievous?

A ROTS Obi-Wan by HT is a Grail...Ewan was the best part of the PT.

It's a difficult figure to do engineering wise and I doubt they could do any better than the SS figure.

imagine after all this speculation half of the figs we end up seeing are a Stormtrooper from ANH, a Stormtrooper from Empire, and 3 Sandtroopers with various colored pauldrons.

I've noticed that PT lovers tend to be younger, and more obsessed with cartoons and comics.

While OT lovers tend to be older, better looking and wanted by many women.
