Back on the trooper topic… I'm loving the fact they're different heights. It adds variety rather than having two absolutely identical troopers. I'd display these guys along side Sideshow and Marmits without a doubt. Now I have to replan my diorama background, possibly moving to a different space. That's the problem with new releases when you're trying to make everything fit into a fixed space. Lot of re-planning.

I'd hoped HT wouldn't be rehashing so quickly. I don't see that these are any improvement on the SS figures.

Star Wars "rehashes" have been a collecting tradition since the 1980's.

OK how are these going to be different than the Sideshow Stormtroopers?
Maybe a better body underneath the armor.
The armor suits look just like the Sideshow versions.
Only thing that will be different will be the price of maybe $289.99 if they're a two pack!

IMO those Stormies look like a massive improvement on SS. Additional head sculpts or not.

How can you not notice a difference? Helmet is different, cod piece, legs, belt, that's not even going off hi res pics.

I missed the SSC stormies and looked into them years later but the helmet and cod piece just looked too off to me, especially for the high prices they were going for. Recently looked into a Marmit stormie (which looked a bit better than SSC overall, but it's a model kit with its own issues) for $175 shipped and ultimately decided against it.

Really glad to see these and excited to have these in-hand.

I'm sure people will be able to get top dollar for SSC troopers for a long time to come. I don't see the prices falling to the floor simply because Hot Toys has their own version coming out. A lot of buyers (and sellers of course) on eBay be nuts.

More fool them, i certainly wouldn't be on the hunt for a less accurate version at inflated prices.

Being able to stand up on their own without a body swap would be a plus. Granted you can't see this improvement in the pics

More fool them, i certainly wouldn't be on the hunt for a less accurate version at inflated prices.

We know one thing about the HT versions. And it's not about how accurate they are… Aftermarket prices are based on what buyers are willing to pay. I've collected Storm an Sandtroopers from Sideshow and never paid more than I was willing for any of them. Obviously I paid more than when they were new, but that's to be expected.

I'm starting to wish they weren't starting with ANH and instead were going with most popular characters first. Han and Chewie are a great pair but I want Sidious, Jedi Luke, ESB Vader, Maul, Qui-Gon, ROTS Anakin and Obi-Wan, prequel and OT Yoda, Lando, Artoo and Threepio. Stormtroopers are probably among that last figures i'd buy right now.

Okay, I need some guidance from the veterans again. Should I sell my SS ROTJ Darth Vader Deluxe (still MISB) or break it out and display it? I've looked through that thread and It made my head spin. One day, I'm good keeping my SS pre-orders for Star Wars OT stuff, then the next day I'm convinced to just wait on HT . Help!

Don't buy toys and then not display them is my advice.

Look at the wide shots people, come on....
