A lot depends on how well the original OT characters are written and acted and not the actual story itself.

One thing's for sure, if I *like* Episode VII I'm staying the hell out of threads discussing it for weeks, possibly months on end. I actually hate how the culture of the internet rips everything to shreds at the earliest possible opportunity and I'm tired of things I enjoy being dragged through the mud while I'm still buzzing on the experience. You used to watch a movie and just get swept up in the story or whatever and then you wouldn't realize until 20 years later "hey, why didn't the Death Star just blow up the planet instead of orbiting it to get to the Rebel base?"

But now five minutes after a movie is released you've got naysayers, nitpickers and a freaking "honest trailer" dissecting every conceivable thing or mistake to complain about. I'm over it. I watched the premiere of SW Rebels with my kids last week and had a blast. I haven't even peaked into the Rebels thread yet. I'm sure people are already ripping it a new one. I'll do the same with Episode VII.

I tend to focus my attention on things which I consider important such as relationships, personal and professional goals etc. Movies, hobbies serve as a nice break away but I'll focus on the pretty lights works for me thus far. I'll come to the boards to watch those with movie magic prowless battle it out, it is fun to read...

One of the internet's big flaws. Let's face it, VII is going to get ripped to shreds by the internet from the first minute regardless of whether it's good or not.

Eh, complaining about people trying to impress other people with "knowledge" probably just means you have very little. Enjoy the pretty lights and go about your day if information upsets you. Why even bother participating in online discussions?

It always amuses me when geeks try and call out other geeks for knowing too much about geeky stuff.

I never complain or call out others for their lack or overabundance of SW knowledge.

I just laugh at them all for arguing.

Some of you think Stormtroopers are not clones???

They all are and all are supposed to be. Humans were the officers and engineers and personel. Clones were the fighters.
If you see any different sized stormies that was a casting issue.

It was only until the empire began to fall that humans were offered to join the stormtrooper corps.

Then perhaps the different sizes are from different batches of clone types. After all, they don't all sound like Jango. Must be variants. Taller and shorter, etc.

I like the Stormtroopers original two voices. I'm glad Lucas didn't PT that as well.

Anyway I'm looking forward to seeing more of these Stormies. I do hope that they might be Han & Luke in disguise because I missed out on the original Sideshow two pack.

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but I believe when they reveal farmboy Luke he will include( be it an exclusive or not) the stormtrooper belt with the grappling hook. So you will be able to complete the Han and Luke in disguise versions in one way or another.

I recalled there being an official explanation on Stormtrooper clones so I googled to jog my memory. It's been confirmed on at least two occasions, including by The Maker himself, that the OT troopers *are* clones, just from a variety of sources (prime clones), hence the different heights, voices etc.

Apparently the selection process for templates became political, hence the reduction in genetic quality.
