Can't wait to get these figures. Since a release date hasn't been announced I guess we're looking at 2015? Maybe spare parts for hot toys Luke and Han head scalps will go through the roof as I can see a lot of folks customizing these troopers.

I'm thinking December po date, June 2015 release sounds about right. I'm happy with sooner but anything goes.

;)

The cunning plan is that you don't need the head sculpts for them to still be Han and Luke. ;)

Well damn. I guess that's what I get for staying away for the SW section for 10 days. They looks great. I love that they're different heights. The first thing I thought of was Han and Luke. I'll wait to see the price. I'm sticking to my Chewy, Han, Leia, R2 and out of SW plan, but it would be hard to pass on a Stormie if it's the right price. Which it prolly won't be. :lol

They look pretty amazing though. Imagine two standing next to Chewie in manacles.

:rock

I don't think I'll get them. I'll wait for the Han/Luke release ;)

I hope they make a single ST for sale.

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

Real questions here.

Do people really want a Han and Luke stormtrooper set?
Also, why do people like them in the stormtrooper disguise so much?

I never really understood the love for that scene. To me it is not there iconic look. I would not display them, let alone buy them.

Not trying to be ignorant or rude but just would like to here others opinions.

I've always liked it because it's two key heroes disguised as my favourite villain(s). It also references the trickery and bravery needed to infiltrate and escape the enemy fortress.

For me it's a bit simpler. The Stormtrooper armor is the outfit Luke was wearing on both the first Star Wars trading card, and my first SW comic.

The trading cards were my first exposure to SW, and for a time I thought Luke's Stormie gear was a spacesuit.

I always had an attachment to that scene, I cannot really even understand why. I was so pumped when Hasbro came out with the Death Star escape 3 pack back in the day.

Great story. I loved those cards!

Actually, now you mention it...I remember the commercials on tv where he pulls off the helmet and says "...I'm here to rescue you!" ... I thought it was a spacesuit too.

Re: Hot Toys Stormtrooper.

I remember those cards like it was yesterday. I recall when Wonder Bread had Star Wars cards in the bags as promotions. It was the first time I saw Darth Vader and wondered who he was!

Yeah, at the start it also wasn't too clear if Vader and the Stormtroopers were humans or robots (turns out Vader was a bit of both!)

The Wonder Bread cards listed all the actors names along with the character except Vader and the droids, pretty clever.
