Just thought I would bump this thread to say I saw the Donner Superman 2 last night... I like the ____ Lester version better.

I like the Lester one better myself. I really thought him using the reverse time trick again was extremely cheap. It was that one thing that ruined it for me.

I think Donner was saving the reverse time trick for part II but the studios had him add it to the first one.

Ahh, well... If that's the case, then you can't have it in both. How would he have saved Lois then? Is there a Donner cut of part one out there?

No, the released version of part one is pretty much the Donner cut. There are slightly different versions out there (TV re-edit for example). But no major difference. And I guess they were going to work out a new ending for part 2. But he never got the chance.
