While I really just want an HT Christopher Reeve, I truly believe that if any character warrants the DX treatment, it is this one. Also, don't you find it a little anticlimactic that they would make us wait this long, only to downgrade the figure?
Why would Superman warrant PERS more than Joker or Bruce Lee?

I never said he warrants it more, but he's most definitely on the same plane of notoriety. I'm more worried about what accessories will be cut if this is true, than about the PERS itself. In all honesty, I think HT has had great characters in their DX line so far, I just think that Reeve Supes deserves to be up there with them.

DX doesn't have all that much to do with accessories, IMO. T-1000 had as many accessories as any figure out there, and was not a DX. T-800 had loads of options as well, as did the Superman 2-in-1, but neither were DX. Godfather, Ghost Rider, and Sweeney Todd come with swanky chairs/vehicle, but aren't DX.

The only thing that really fundamentally distinguishes DX is the googly eyes, which Superman does not need, and that he is probably better off without, IMO.

I really hope we get a dio of some sort with him. I would've loved to see him get the Bruce Lee treatment. Multiple outfits, dioramas, accessories, headsculpts, and, as trivial as it may sound, I believe that the packaging on DX figures is mostly superior to the standard MMS figures.

Not to sound harsh, but I don't collect boxes. Although I do appreciate the artistic aspect of nicely crafted box that's not why I would by a HT Supes.

I just always thought that the quality of the packaging reflected greatly on the product itself.

I agree with Kara on this one. I'd rather get a standard MMS. They can leave the PERS, the funky odd-shaped base, cheap background and foam box at home. All I care about is a Superman with a non-cheesy suit and a likeness that's spot on Reeve.

Box has no bearing whatsoever on the figure in my view. I buy for the figures, and only keep the boxes to store them and for resale value purposes. Obviously, not everyone feels the same--look no further than those wanting to send their Bruce Lee figures back because their shipper box was too damaged.

Having said that, the DX packaging isn't drastically different than what we saw with the Thriller and 10th Anniversary figures, so even there, I don't know that the DX figure is distinctive in that sense.

I agree with that. It deserves to get an extra head (or two), Kent outfit, Fortress of Solitude/Daily Planet dioramas, crystal shards, a buttload of hands, etc.

I'm just excited to be seeing all of these licenses being realized. Batman and Superman, these are figures that people have been dreaming about for decades. I'm a child of the 90's, so I haven't been waiting quite that long, but I can only imagine how wondrous it must be for some of you to see figures of this caliber after growing up in the MEGO and Kenner eras.
