Surely I can't be the only one who doesn't like the custom capes, right?

I know every option is flawed, and we have to pick our poison. But I definitely prefer stock, be it Inart or Hot Toys. I don't see an upgrade in any of the custom options. They just look flat, especially around the collar. And yeah, they "drape" better, but they hang like folded paper.

I don't necessarily think they're more accurate either. To be honest, I've tossed accuracy aside, as I don't think that's an option with either figure without some serious modding.

For the time being, I'm aiming for what's most aesthetic.
I think shape wise, OSK is definitely the better one.

But yeah, it lacks bulkiness at the end and that makes it like a cheap piece of cloth, super thin.

I will hold off from upgrading til there's a new cape available.

Been having some fun with this figure lately:

Awesome pics RogueRunner!
Batman Thumbs Up GIF
Thanks!

Debating on this mod with the “empty” seamless cowl. Might acquire a second headsculpt to transplant the eye system and mod the faceplate.

It will certainly all fit, but the black plastic under the faceplate chin will need to be removed (it’s glued but can be done) and then figure out a system to have it sit flush and hold. With this done, the faceplate will sit lower and push a little further out than it is in the pics below.

The pics below show the faceplate inside, but will look more natural and flush if I remove the black chin plate. Next step would be mounting the neck:

I tried this with mine but unfortunately the inside of the cowl is not shaped well for eyes to be transplanted and would need dremeling, which would be extremely difficult to do ‘blind’.

Best of luck!

Damn, well that settles that! Good idea in theory. Thanks for the info

I’m not saying it’s not possible, but would be extremely difficult unfortunately!

I got up to the point I had the eyes in place but they sit way too deep and the effort to try and get them in place was not worth what I felt would be an inferior result.

Yeah I hear ya. I think I’ll just stick to pictures of the back of the head for it lol. With the right angles and lighting, it can look seamless (better contouring that InArt in this department):

Finally picked this guy up and couldn’t be happier. Had the inart but had to sell it unfortunately, and honestly I think I’m just as happy with this figure as I would be with that. It’s difficult to capture and photos definitely don’t do it justice. My opinion has completely changed about the cowled sculpt, it looks great from most angles. I think with a little TLC the proportions of this are better than the inart. Mine has been heavily weathered and chest piece has been basically repainted, and has the OT neck collar as well. Will pick up the topo drifter set for the unmasked sculpt.
Now I’m on the lookout for the deluxe stair base if anyone has an extra laying around

That looks great! I feel the same way. I just got my InArt in yesterday. It’s very good, but there are some things I don’t like. I planned on keeping both HT and InArt, but I’m happy with HT.

InArt definitely did better with the torso fabric, and “armor” there. But other than that each come up just a little short on perfect.

I think HT would have been perfect out of the box if the cape was a bit better, and the head sculpt was scaled down maybe 5%.
