yea I wish I could afford MAXX's bases. I think they are gorgeous and just make awesome display pieces

PS: I think they are fairly priced, I just don't have the money for them :)

haha trust me...I don't REALLY have the money either. Being a graduate student sort of dampers big spending, but you only live once! :thud:

I know they are unbelievable!! I'm working with MAXX to get a custom base built. I like the combination of this stand and making the top layer either a white glow or the light cycle grid.

MAXX is taking my collection to a whole new level. In a strange way I'm sort of glad the light cycle got delayed. I need to space these purchases out before I'm broke! :gah:
:exactly:

I have to put these on the back burner b/c there's just way too much going on, but 1 day they will be mine. 1 nice thing about waiting is that Maxxseems to always be up to something Tron, so maybe we've yet to see his absolute best! :wink1:

thanks a lot guys :bow

For future display stands i'll do my very best ;)

So here are some more pics of the "DOWNTOWN" Base:

more coming soon.....:monkey1

That base looks classy! Wished HT came with something like that, not a fan of the hexagonal shape they went with to be honest.

Agreed, the hex is too narrow and limits some poses. I wonder if Maxx would do a large base, say 10 inch x 10 inch that would allow us to display multiple figures? :panic:

Got me a MAXX custom order waiting to be baked! Said it will be a couple of weeks! :gah: I'm so impatient! I want this on my shelf now!

I'm so stoked to have you doing me a custom piece MAXX. I love that there are still creative people out there who do this stuff because they love it all without ripping people off. I'd rather give you my money every day of the week! :hi5:

Just had a chance to open Flynn up and am considering poses for the detolf. Anyone have any really cool poses they use? I know with some figures materials durability comes into question with certain poses. Any dont's?

Edit: Put him in the detolf and had a chance to take some pics of the unboxing. Pictures are in my display thread:

That was the absolute worst part about KFlynn. It was a nightmare changing outfits. I hope I never have to do that again. I don't think Hot Toys could have made those buttons any smaller. Then the stupid peg things are bent! :slap

Amen. I really hate the fact HT cheaps out and uses those plastic craps & I don't like velcro either, just use the metal snaps FFS! :monkey4

Did the Joker DX's vest use metal snaps? I couldn't remember.

Have had a chance to take Kev out of the box yet, but I can understand everyone's frustration with them after having to strip down Sweeney Todd to adjust some screws on the joints. I even bid on an extra jacket in case it wears out in the future.

I have a suit I've put on my Bruce that uses metal snaps, and those things are a wonder. Hope HT man's up and ditch them for the metal ones ASAP.

I want to change Kev into the black outfit right away, but with these plastic snaps, it's probably safer if I take a bunch of shots with him in the white outfit first, so I won't have to go through changing him again.

Idk about the DX Joker but the BR Joker & V1 joker both use velco strips on the shirt & vest. Absolutely love Enterbay's metal snaps, HT needs to step up on this b/c these plastic ones are infuriating.

That's why I got a second body and head!
That way I have both versions displayed! :rock!

Hmm... if time is money, this makes sense! I definitely lost that amount of cash in time spent changing an old man doll!

:lol:lol:lol

Hey Kuzeh what body would you recommend?

Well, I bought a parted out Flynn body on Ebay,
I think it's just a standard TT, but if you want the boots to actually be connected, you need the African American Slim TT feet joints, or the Flynn ones, since they are not the standard pegs...
