I don't think Big Boss ever really took over as 'main character'

Granted the past 5 years has been Big Boss and I think Kojima would have preferred him to, but realised he liked and wanted to flesh out BB too late on in the series

BB has this game left in him really unless they drag it out for another game but then it must surely be done

If the next games are to be the MG1&2 remakes then I don't think you should be playable as both, whats the point in doing that just to appease some BB fans? I can't imagine how that aids the games.

They should stick to the foundations already laid, which are good anyway, there's nothing wrong with them. I don't see the need to change just to give BB more playable screen time

I'm all for a MGS2 sort of thing were as you experience a lot of BB story through the eyes of Snake and Frank, it could do for old BB what mgs2 did for Snake, plus I think that is were Kojima is best at portraying characters

Alas I don't think Hayter will be back as Solid anyway which sort of makes him not the Solid Snake i grew up with for 10 years. I don't think Kojima wants anything to do with him and I don't think his own view of himself would allow him to go back on his word

I don't think adding two different viewpoints would be to appease BB fans, I think it would truly add something to the experience and would really fit within the world of MGS since most these games are really about conflicting ideals and viewpoints, there is no real good or bad guy and a story from SS and BB viewpoints could showcase that perfectly.

As long as things aren't so black and white, an ending where gamers could converse with each other about which side they thought was right would be awesome in my opinion and really refreshing.

Why do you say that???

Well there seems to be a lot of bad blood between Kojima and Hayter right now, Hayter has done a few interviews throwing not so subtle jabs at Kojima, and with the way Konami treated Hayter makes me think there's more underlying issues for why Hayter really didn't come back.

If Hayter can pull off his MGS 1 voice, then I'm all for him coming back, I've heard him do it in an interview really quickly. I don't know if he can do it for an entire game though, and he was pretty much using his Peace Walker voice in that MG fan remake video that released not too long ago. I don't want that Peace Walker voice anywhere near a real Metal Gear remake.

Maybe fan appeasement was the wrong way to describe it

I know the story itself is in turmoil due to all the inconsistencies, but Big Boss started out as a villian (a proper one) and should finish how he started.. full circle

I can let it slide him being considered the 'misunderstood hero' up until the MG games, but the BB is those games and what you think of him from MGS1 should be upheld as i think that will bring much more diversity to the character overall, the hero that turned into the villian. TDK quote 'You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.' fits very well for the current state of BB story arch

The only reason i don't want it to be split with BB is that they are not BB games, they are Solid Snakes. It's not some childish SS over BB BS but more so if they do try and push BB in as a playable character it's for that reason only. If they want to push BB the same way they pushed Solid is MGS2 then it's a win win for everyone really, BB gets more time and fleshed out just as much

Granted if they gave BB playable part then I'm not going to cry, i just think it's a bad move just to shoehorn BB into a playable role just cuz. It would be like remaking MGS1 but making Liquid a playable character, just cuz he's liked. It just doesn't make sense in context to what has already been established imo

Yea that makes sense, if Kojima did feel compelled to throw BB in as a playable character than I would hate that too, I think theres a lot of potential in bringing the series full circle playing as both of the main characters and seeing things from both of their perspectives. Either way though, I want the next game to be the remakes then be done with the series, I don’t think theres any need to carry on with this series without the Snakes, hopefully Konami will make a new IP instead.

I do agree there must be something between the two which is why he isn't in the mgsV, I guess im just hoping he makes a return in future MGS games.

:exactly: Yeah doing a remake of the games so BB can be playable would just show me that Kojima is out of ideas and just wants to milk his series for all its worth. I don't really see him doing that but you never know.

I really don't think the arms are covered plastic. I see the joints. What I don't like is the shoulders being too bulky and the gray color is off. It should be a brownish gray.

fyi Raiden is also Snake, so Raiden can continue the MGS legacy without any problem. Raiden haters would have quit the series knowing there will be no Solid Snake & Big Boss in future games, or at most a brief mention about them.

All of us want the remakes :lol. I just hope it happens, and Kojima doesn't leave it off with MGS V.

just to refresh your memory Raiden had the codename snake in MGS2. Just like Solid Snake in MGS1.

It was temporarily changed to Snake from Raiden by the GW AI masquerading as Colonel Campbell for the purposes of the Big Shell S3 simulation.

That doesn't make him a member of the family.
