Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

I'll never understand why HT allows Scalpers to profit from their products. HT could make so much more by just listening to their fans, and giving them what they want. It's a simple trade really.HT's products for our money.

How exactly is Hot Toys supposed to control after the sale prices? Scalpers are going to be a part of this hobby as long as the products are desirable. I don't see how that's Hot Toy's problem. The only way to combat it, would be to produce figures for continual sale like Hasbro. Then people will complain about $200 figures selling for $50 a couple years after you buy them.

Blame humanity. Blame the economy. Blame the government. But don't blame Hot Toys for making such great products that people continue to want them after they are sold out. They have no more control over the flippers than you or I do.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

I was 90% positive that it was going to be The Friend figure.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

Just put the @#$%& thing up for PO and let everyone who wants it place their order NOW!!! Don't they realize how much money they could make if this wasn't an exclusive!?

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

Hey, and that Toy fairs calendar? Sideshow won't gonna sell it to Comic con attendees then?

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

Ok folks...a little news for you....Pre-Orders will NOT be happening for the Batman Begins Figure during Comic-Con month but WILL occur sometime after July.

Yes, I know that means more waiting (and this isn't the news you wanted to hear), but perhaps this will help with some of y'alls stress levels for a little while...hopefully...*crossing fingers* :)

This needs to be quoted on every page so people stop asking when it will go up.

Thanks, Alex! :duff

Just getting ready to do that DW.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

Oh yaay, no Batman but instead we got a doll that wears a suit and tie and a bag on his head, how amazing! *sarcasm off*

EDIT: Just saw the post about it being after July. Hard to catch any real updates when there's 15 new pages a day to go thru. GRRR

Alex said they don't know how many figures HT is going to send them. Hard to preorder when you don't know what your stock will be. I'm betting HT underestimated the interest in this figure. They planned on doing an exclusive release, but may be scrambling to make it a regular release. So, it may end up not being so hard to get if my thoughts turn out right.

It's not going to stop people from asking. It'll only delay a lot of people from asking until August 1st. Once July is over people are gonna do it all over again. The other half of the people aren't even gonna read it and continue to ask. Human nature and people want this figure.

I like the way you think. Hopefully it's something close to this. :hi5:

True. Some people come in posting without reading up first. :panic:

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

I know I'm personally eager for this figure. I don't have a Batman figure in my collection so I really want to score one. I just hope Sideshow gives us a day when they find out so everyone can chill until order day.

I would actually prefer that to this clusterfark. Now I know that there are a lot of people that would disagree with me as they collect these as an investment, which I do not.

Well, if supply and demand kicked in, they "should" be able to sell mass produced figures at a substantial discount to what we're paying now, if they did that. However, it may come at a cost of quality, as it often does. I think the current balance is preferable, IMO anyway. How many name brands have you seen go to die in Walmart, ones once sold in department stores at huge markups? High-end comes at a price, and the balance is quality with quantity/availability. Or, as the saying goes:

cheap, good, fast. Pick 2.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

Yeah imagine if they did that and the figures started to have problems like leaking abs, cracking joints, etc. That would be terrible.

Part of the fun of collecting is the thrill of the hunt, so to speak, and knowing the figures and statues you have are of some value, and will at least stay steady at value if not increase. It's also nice to know if you fall on hard times that you can sale your collection for a substantial profit.

In a sense, collecting is like a fun hobby that is also an investment. I'd hate for them to start doing several production runs on these pieces like a major company such as Hasbro.
