Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

Im not sure how true this statement is but according to Jaclyn from SS via IM, she stated:

"We just received news that that item will not be available for order for another 6 weeks or so..just yet but stay tuned to the newsletter. We will announce it before we put it up for preorder"

I dont know if this statement is really true or if its just a general statement to waive off repeat inquiries but if it is true then it sure is a huge bummer, as preorders wont be available till near the end of August. (unless your one of the many who needs the extra time to recoup his/her wallet)

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

Alex already told everyone this isn't going up for PO anytime during the month of Comic Con, so that's pretty spot on.

If you had the wherewithal to actually read a few pages prior to posting, you'd know whether or not that statement is true.

Sorry but, i dont make it a habit to go through 3362 posts which usually includes non-topic chatter. I do have a life..well sort of :wink1:

Reading prior postings?? How do you do that? Do you have to have so many posts, and then get permission from Dave to do that? :dunno

Apparently reading comprehension and/or math's also an issue. Since when does "a few" constitute 3300 posts? :dunno

If you have a life , you shouldn't be a FREAK

GTFO!!!! :lol

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

Glad this isn't going up this month, I was worried about having enough funds available with all the other SDCC stuff going up and the tons of other things shipping this month all at once.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

How exactly is Hot Toys supposed to control after the sale prices? Scalpers are going to be a part of this hobby as long as the products are desirable. I don't see how that's Hot Toy's problem. The only way to combat it, would be to produce figures for continual sale like Hasbro. Then people will complain about $200 figures selling for $50 a couple years after you buy them.

I wasn't referring to after the market, I was referring to before it. All I'm saying is supply and demand. Look at your fans reactions, once the specs + pics are released, and build on them. All of the money these scalpers are getting is due to the fact that people want this figure, and are afraid they won't get him. The secondary market value could also be potentially unaffected due to the fact that there are still some who missed out, and the continuously growing fan-base.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

Alex said they don't know how many figures HT is going to send them. Hard to preorder when you don't know what your stock will be. I'm betting HT underestimated the interest in this figure. They planned on doing an exclusive release, but may be scrambling to make it a regular release. So, it may end up not being so hard to get if my thoughts turn out right.

Even if it ends up being a 'regular' release, people should still not sit around. They should jump on it immediately, because it would still sell out in due time and those people will pay for it on eBay later.

Exclusive or not, get it as soon as it goes up for sale.

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

This figure will probably be the definitive begins suit batman figure. Unless hot toys releases a batman that can light on fire:lol

Re: Batman Begins: Batman/ Bruce Wayne (2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive)

This really give me a little bit of peace.
I still need to cool down from my anger for the fact that my exclusive order got cancelled by SSC

Blame humanity. Blame the economy. Blame the government. But don't blame Hot Toys for making such great products that people continue to want them after they are sold out. They have no more control over the flippers than you or I do.

Hot Toys can kill the scalper economy easily just by increasing production to meet demand.

But they do a pretty good job of meeting initial demand, IMO. Exclusives are exclusives and are supposed to be rare, but I'm talking about typical figures. These figures get rare and valuable later on. Everyone has a chance to pre-order every mass-released figure. HT simply doesn't re-release figures to meet later demand levels, and I'm not sure they should for reasons discussed previously.

Too bloody right it is. My god this section can be down right head nipping. I'd need to wear a crash helmet for it.

I know in the past, Hot Toys did exactly that and did re-release figures as long as a year after the initial release to meet demand. Personally, I would keep doing that if I were Hot Toys. Screw the scalpers, and maximize your own profits.

I know they did this at least with the Appleseed Deunan figure.
