Especially in light of Dsokyra's pics (best so far btw, thanks for posting them) & Clipperking's video, I have absolutely no idea how you can say that. Is HT's figure perfect ?, No ! But it does look to be by far and away the best representation of Indy in 1/6th scale released so far.
I can really see Ford in these latest pics & compared to the SS version this rocks.
It's a fantastic looking figure with loads of quality accessories,

I think the accessories, 2nd outfit and in particular the idol stand make it worth the price....

...but it is sort of a backhanded compliment that its 'the best 1/6 Indy to date' because thats mostly because the older $90 Sideshow figure is cheap and crappy.

It SHOULD be the best one to date by miles and it shouldn't even be able to be discussed ...the fact that people are actually seriously compared means something went horribly wrong somewhere!

I still don't follow what you are saying. Are you telling us that you where looking at 3 different HT Indy HS in person. And ALL 3 were different?? Not just a little different in the paint app but different in the actual shape and sculpt of the head?! Really?

Yes, really. And I am not trashing this piece, I bought it. Look, I am no expert, but yes, each one looked a bit different (I didn't measure the heads, but paint jobs vary for sure -- which effects how it looks). I wish he had let me take some pics, but they sure didn't seem to match each other. Look at all of these photos that people are posting, there are differences for sure (not just lighting and angle of the shot). If you don't believe that I bought one from a pieced out set, I guess there is no way that I could prove it to you:

Also, look at my pics of different ones, first day one (which looks terrible):

Second day, another one (which looks great!!!):

There are differences here.

In the end, I am glad that I bought it, people should just be sure that they are happy with what they get when they open box, because I can tell you having seen several in person that there "might" be a paint job that you don't like, or it "might" not look like some of the others here.

Again, it is a great piece and I am happy that I bought it:

At the moment the only people who can truthfully judge how horrible or wrong this figure is are the people who actually own it,
The camera lies & none of what we've seen so far may truly represent how this really looks, maybe the guys who do have the figure in hand are "caught in the moment" & are giving gushing complements but seeing as they are adults I'd hope not.

This all reminds me of Wolverine - people whining about the Hugh Jackman likeness & failing to see it is one hell of a figure until it too late to actually get one,
The more I see of this Indy the less I worry that it has actually gone that wrong.

I'll only really be able to stand by my current enthusiasm for this figure when I get it (come on OneSixthBruce :impatient:).

Sorry to anyone who likes this figure, but, after the months of lobbying we did to get the Indy everyone wanted, to get this as the end result is one of the biggest disappointments since the Prophecy Girl Buffy!

This figure is wrong on SO many levels, it's an embarrassment!

Shame on you HT!!

Ok I am calling you out. Let's see this amazing custom that you have, that is so much better than this figure.

Guys can we just agree on this?:
1. this is the best 1/6 Indy available currently (it was always going to be).
2. The headsculpt is not perfect, in newer pictures it's ok, but not 100% Ford. I would say it's poor, but that's my opinion.
3. This is not a perfect HT release, but many people still want it and are excited by it.

Obviously Arnies not happy with it either or he wouldn't have posted those repainted sculpt pics on FB.

All of these realities can co-exist, one person doesn't have to be wrong to make another right?

Some heads are highly detailed and painted well (like Dsokyras'), and others look plain and weird like the pics you reposted? Nothing to do with the camera, I guess? Well, this would have to be the first HT figure with the problem of all the heads having drastically varying paint applications... And on a DX???????

https://youtu.be/rq-spcrm-L0 here you go boys this is to try and answer some of the questions and show you all the arab outfit . thanks for your comments on the review as a whole , please get across to youtube and check out my other vids :O)

Clipperking me old mate, I'm pissing myself laughing at your response to some of those 'mocking' your accent earlier on. Well done mate and btw, great review as always.

All the best (from London)

You obviously haven't seen the BL DX variations.

What significant variations? Variations in the amount of megapixels and lenses cameras have, and the results of the photos they produce because of it?

Now that's the BEST pic I've seen of him yet -- that's FORD! I can't believe it. You caught it.

What'd you do? Why does the jaw look slimmer? Looks GREAT there!!!! And above.

Wor Gar,

I think that everyone is making a big fuss over a simple wide angle camera distortion. He took the picture with his phone at close proximity, so it makes the jaw look slimmer and the nose look larger from the middle. Arnie Kim had his re-painted as he didn't like the fact the HT paint doesn't come with full on stubble. I think having an even distribution of stubble makes it look a lot better. If all of them looked exactly as those two pictures, I would be in line to buy one, however I have seen it in person. And unless there are two different sculpts and paint jobs floating around, I do not see the likeness that some of you do see with yours in hand. In the grand scheme of things does it really matter? I am glad there are many who love the piece. And I do love coming on here and seeing the customizations and different poses. I'm also glad that the anger from the last thread has calmed down as there seems to be this understanding that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and there is no need to belittle or bash anyone who posts their thoughts in a way that is non confrontational.

I agree with you on this one. I have to add a number 4 to your list. The accessories and costume stand out in comparison to everything released before and are excellent.

It was never confirmed by Arnie that it was a custom repaint...

I think that he posted photos of the production piece.

?!?
Whatever Butters.

I will explain for you.
The DX ETD Lee had a large range of variation in it's paint apps. Some were sweaty and wet, some weren't, some had darker shadows and facial hair, some didn't. So your statement was ill informed. Get the pixely picture?

Sure buddy, whatever...

Keep going guys... :lol

I also think not having PERS would have made many of the earlier pictures not looked raccoony and cross-eyed. There would have been much less negativity if the eyes matches the HT Superman below. I pray that if a TOD Indy comes out by HT, that it does NOT use PERS. The eyelids are thinner on Supers and about twice as think on Indy. That makes a big difference in certain lighting conditions.

I think better cameras, lighting, and less PS would have made all the difference... People waiting for some decent photos would have helped, too.

SS has shipped, so not long to go for me now! :yess::yess::yess:

For your sake Butters, I hope you are truly happy with what you get. Please take some pictures in natural light as I see too many with that spotlight on one side of the face look.
