I doubt it'd go for mad money. Itd be just like the BR joker, excellent quality fig but there's just too much of it circulating in the market.

That's why it'll never go the way billy jean MJ did. Which was pretty low and limited but not enough interest to begin with, but gained popularity as it was the only fig available at the time of his death, and that was approved when he was still alive.

haha..i think so too...i'm a collector not a flipper like him... i'll be happy to receive my thriller MJ..and hoping one day of getting a reasonable priced billie jean MJ...

Honestly,
I don't think the Thriller ones are going to fetch much on Ebay...
It would be better if they part them out...
I sure can use 2-3 extra regular MJ heads for bashes...

I doubt it man. There's some BIN billy jean on the bay for 700-800 including free shipping. And billy jean is much rarer compared to thriller cause not a lot of people PO that. They way I see HT work is that they produce their figs based on how many actually PO it.

Some of my friends even PO 3-4 thriller fig, and I bet there's a lot of people PO these to flip on ebay. So yeah, I don't think its gonna go up that crazy just yet, since the market will probably be flooding like ^^^^ for the first few weeks.

True about PO, but not every MJ fan will know to PO - they'll just go to eBay like everyone else. But in the first 2 weeks of a HT fig being released, because eBay's really the only place to get it, the price will be higher than if you were to PO or buy later when it becomes more available. I remember as soon as P1 was released, it was about $200 on eBay. That was a $150 fig; Thriller MJ is a $190 fig.......I have a feeling you'd be looking at at least $230-250 upon release, possibly more seeing as it is going to be a highly popular fig. But as I said, if I'm wrong and you do get a good price, more power to you!

Give it less than a year after its release and this piece will climb above $500+ no problem. You'll see. Once they're gone they're gone. When that happens people get stupid.

I'd get it at $230, as long as I get it first. But yeah, it could go either way, rock bottom PO price or hit the roof. This is a pretty unique case we are talkin bout here, first of all, you can't really compare it with something as niche as preds. MJ is quite a commercialized. I'm guessing most of the hardcore MJ fans have prolly never heard of HT before.

And when the teaser and PO of thriller hit the bay a couple of months back, I'm guessing quite a handful of MJ fans have already bought their POs. As I'm guessing not a lot of them understand the way HT works just yet. So I guess (and hope!) price wise, it would still be on the reasonable side. Besides, by now, the hype should already died down a bit, so I don't think we are into any sort of competition anyways. My 2c.

Wouldn't you say something of a niche such as Predator would go cheaper than something that is immensely popular like MJ? Even though more MJ's are probably being made, because they're so popular, retailers can jack up the price as much as they want and people/fans will still buy them. But in the end, we're both gonna have him, so who gives a ^^^^, right? Lol!

On another note, I really hope the the new black TT will be released at the same time as MJ. I mean, the slim TT is already out before DX Joker, so hopefully next month we start seeing some indication of a release.

Not necessarily, as that means there would be plenty of resellers trying to get rid of their excessive MJ thrillers, thus they would also be competing with one another.

Besides niche market = low volume, higher margin.

Btw, I noticed that MJ comes with a black rubber arms, so does the TT black slim comes with black rubber arms as well?

The arms are actually sculpted/textured; so yes, the new black TT has the same arms as MJ.

and as I said, the flipper will only profit if they part these out...
People are selling their BR jokers for $100.00 nowadays...
I think the same will happen with these, as I'm, sure this edition size will be very high...

I'll be interested to see if they do a DX. If they do I wont be buying it. This one has everything I could want and I'm pretty sure about that.

Well, most MJ fans will rather talk about MJ than collectibles in general I think... besides, most of them have never heard of Hot Toys or Sideshow...

I don't think we'll see a DX... maybe other MJ versions, like Smooth Criminal or Bad...

I don't know...
The only way it would make sense to make a DX is if they do a BJ(video or Motown 25)/Thriller/Beat-it DX combo, as MJ looked pretty much the same on those 3 videos...
