I dont see what other Wolf Figures they could put out to be honest, but if they did id have to applaud Hot Toys cut throat business tactics lol

i know it's been said a hundred times before, but i can't help feel seriosuly shafted by this. this version includes the WHOLE of the previous figure plus a bunch of kick ass extras. at least with the robocop rereleases they waited a while between releases. this is a serious kick in the nads.

between this and the shocktrooper only being sold at SWS, i'm having a bad 1/6 week. :monkey2

Got my notices as well!!! :rock :rock

And to be honest it's possible Hot Toys could do a "Final Battle" Wolf with roaring mandibles and maybe a big hole through his chest! :lol

Now available at Hot Toys: Wolf Predator-sitting in a chair version

(1)New alternate roaring head
(2)Chair and monitor from Wolf's first scene
(3)Blue liquid evidence destroyer

:D

I just want the mandibles and the alien skull. I've been saying they should have did the extra mandibles for the Predators since the beginning.

It seems almost as though the modular mandibles isn't anything overly compicated, makes you wonder why they took so long to apply it, and also why the Wolf figure doesn't feature it as well.

Now that I know I'll have the bio helm and I'm not panicking trying to get a figure with it, I'm all excitement. This is my first Predator and I'm really looking forward to finally having one.

I just ordered the regular BD figure, not the SSC Exclusive, the damaged mask means nothing to me as it's not part of the film, so this BD figure looks to satisfy what I wanted in a P2 figure entirely.

I'm going to guess that the SSC version has only the damaged bio mask because my first thought seeing the regular in the tray was that HT probably decided it was cheaper to only design 1 new tray, and to fill in the mask slot on the non-SSC figures, they threw the regular bio mask in.

That makes A LOT of sense. Business and otherwise.

What about removable wrist gauntlets and shin guards? Looks like they're going to be molded onto the arms & legs... at least the first time around. :lol Btw, I think the evidence cleanser capsule is already included, or at least the pouch he used to carry it.

Hate to say it guys, but ya better get used to this sort of thing, and be prepared to empty your wallets with every new Predator license HT picks up, 'cause they ain't likely to stop anytime soon. The only other alternative is to be painfully selective, and hope that the edition you decide to go for has everything you want.

If I'd known this BD version would be essentially the same figure set + the extras, I could've waited for it and passed on the first one. It's not knowing that is the most disturbing thing about all of this. Plenty of other companies have turned out variant and exclusive figures, but they're usually quite a bit cheaper to begin with, so nobody gets too upset about it. Hot Toys might be wise to ease up on this practice with future releases, or at least give us all a much better reason to purchase a whole new figure. That said, they're in it for the money, so we'll either have to let some things go or be prepared to cough up a few hundred bucks with every new license HT gets.

Edit: This just for laughs, I got my pre-auth notices from Sideshow today for both the BD and the Elder!!! So it looks like they'll both be arriving in the same shipment... how's that for timing? :monkey4 :lol

... And there goes another $300! :monkey2

Just got back home guys so just a little teaser of what's to come. Hopefully it won't take me long to get him assembled. The interchangable mouth works and looks great in my opinion (the photos don't do it justice). The tools in the med kit are not removable it seems and the hose for the breathing hose attaches to the back of his armor. For the time being I haven't figured out how the battle damaged arm works.....doesn't look like it will be a simple swap.

p.s. My sellor says that all three AvP figures will be released Monday in HK.

I think this is definitely the first time HT's really gone far with the variants. Making Aliens in colors they never were is one thing, making Grid Alien which is the same but for some paint on the head and a few gauges isn't a big deal. Had the first P2 figure come with 90% of what the BD comes with, and the BD figure had just new paint and maybe 1 unique item, people would have been fine, but BD appears to be an upgrade not a variant. I stil think that since the bio mask wasn't listed to Sideshow as accompanying the figure, the reason it's in the regular's is to cost save on figure boxes and trays, just swap out the SSC mask with the regular one and walla, but if they didn't put the clean mask in with the regular, people would have wondered why there was a spot for it.

It's going to be fun getting this guy together, I placed my order the night it went up for sale so hopefully a ship notice will come quick, maybe even tomorrow, I had my Aliens dio ship like a day after I got the processing notice. If it goes tomorrow, I should have him end of next week. Finally I get to make some image contributions in the Predator threads.

Wow, the detail and quality on that skull is amazing, so worth having that in the collection. Thanks for the pics and info Darren.

Thanks for pics! Any chance you can show us where the hose for the respirator mask attaches on the back of the armour? There was no shot of it in the movie, so I'm wondering where they decided to put it.

I didn't think the medical instruments would be removable, but are they molded or are they just glued into the kit? If they're only glued, then they could probably be removed... with care.

Any idea how the severed arm stump is installed onto the elbow joint? Please post some more pics for us to drool over! :monkey5 :D

Looking at the pieces, I guess you can remove the left forearem from the elbow joint that binds it to the upper arm and then inster that into the BD portion.

I'll certainly end up putting this guy through all the rigors getting various images of all the various moments, med mask, treating his wounds, etc.

I'm happy to see how subtle the blood looks, I may not really have to get it repainted afterall, we'll see.

I'm a little baffled, looks like there are 3 right hands, but 2 look the same? Can someone with the regular figure comment on this? (If it came with the same ammount of hands.)

Looks like they went light on the blood, which is good for anyone who wanted a "clean" P2, and it ought to make any repaint operations a bit easier, as well.

There were three right hands with the original, looks like the same ones here.
1. Combi-stick grip
2. Smart-disc grip (fingers and thumb are spread)
3. Open palm

They give you plenty of options for holding the weapons he comes with, but you're probably going to wish you had a set of those bendy hands the AvP Preds came with... He only has one left hand, the open palm. Would've been cool to have another spear grip hand or a net-gun firing hand. Oh well...

Ahhh, ok, now that I look again I can see the separation on the fingers for the disc holding hand, forgot about that weapon's unique means of being held. I can see the spear has the retraction function worked into it since it's so small in the tray there.

Have you seen any of the pics posted in the first P2 thread? There were some better ones than this, but just to give you an idea of the disc-grip hand's use...

I did see those, they're actually part of what convinced me to get this figure, mixed with Predator fever pre-gaming the weeks before AVP:R and Hot Toys reeled in another one :)
