As a kid, I listened to License to Ill until the tape broke. The mid-80s Beastie Boys sound immediately brings me back to old car trips where I would listen to that on my Walkman.

Personally I think most of the music that's out now is the worst, and I like just about everything.

I liked quite a few bands who put out music in the 90s.....Pearl Jam, Live, Lenny Kravitz, REM, Live, Soundgarden, Oasis, Green Day.....

Metallica put out their black album then too.

BUT......who could forget this song....:lol

I didn't know Ski was the lead singer of Right Said Fred.

I know. But Misfits and Pixies weren't 90's bands. (And I really only threw Nirvana in because they were still infinitely better than most of what happened after.)

The Misfits made there big come back in the 90's so they could be considered a 90's band. But thats a can of worms I don't wanna open.

I was alive for 1 year and 25 days in the 80's but I am way more drawn to that decade then the 90's. Its probably because my brother and sister were 12 and 8 years older then me(yes I was probably a mistake) and I got all the hand-me-down toys like GI joes and all the vintage star wars and transformers. I love the 80's.

Oh Hell's Yes...THE 80's. College, parties, college bands jamming...Red Red Wine. Booze and more booze and more booze...OMG the hangovers :thud:. Road Trips...Panama City Beach, beach babes and yes...more booze. Rockin at Club LaVela, the place was so big it had 3 bands playing on different stages at the same time. I caught an unbelievably great concert there by Poison and turned out the band was staying in the same private Condo building me and my college buds were, one of my friends dad owned the condo, and we got to chill out with them on the beach...and of course drink more beer :yess:. I lived through 2 Hurricanes and 3 tropical storms in PC, spent a lot of time there and we had one awesome Hurricane party too :hi5: I met a hot college babe that lived in PC and I would go down and stay with her a lot and damn did we party...and damn did my grades go down that semester. Hair bands ruled, the louder the better. At UAB I spent a lot of time partying at Louie Louie's at 5 Points, what a great place to catch a good college band like Telluride and drink more beer :drink:duff. Sadly L's is closed now so my Nephew didn't get to enjoy it like I did :( anyway go Blazers.
Now I still listen a lot to 80's music cause today's stuff is mostly crap:monkey4
Oh and I raced dirt bikes 250cc and drag raced my 67 Mustang I built myself with my Dad's advice and help. And President Ronald Reagan we sure need you now.
Oh how I miss the 80's :(:(:(

I was too young to remember most of the 80's but what I do recall - kids' cartoons, mostly - I remember fondly (ThunderCats, anyone?).

Also, now that I think about it, my favourite film, book and CD all came out in the 80's even though I didn't discover them all until the mid-90's. Just proves what a cool decade the 80's were. :)

Does it give you goosebumps?

Plus I'm not just talking about cartoons here. Todays take on TV is pure utter brain-dead garbage. All you get in this modern day is reality shows, reality shows, reality shows. Cheap hacked up garbage. There's hardly any quality anymore.

Heh, this was on a few nights ago. I had never seen it before but had to catch it for the end... how that song brings back so many great summer memories.

Always loved the richness of some of the 80's music.

Don't know if it has been mentioned, but one of my favorite lines in Karate Kid is when the Cobra Chi (Khi?) kid at the tounranment yells "Put him in a body bag Johnny!! Yeah!!"

I don't know what year those particular cartoons came from but, I remember always watching a lot of the technicolor cartoons. I'd have my big ol cup of milk and sugar and just watch cartoons all morning. If I ever win the lotto, I'm either taking over cartoon network or starting my own network so that way I can show nothing but stuff from the 90s and back.

Underrated 80s movie was 3 O'Clock High. It was a remake of Gary Cooper's High Noon. It gets no credit.

Willy Wonka, Yeah... I remember the technicolor stuff as well. Or was it Filmation?

I agree to an extent. There's some excellent shows on besides the crap you listed. Problem is they're a diamond in the rough so out of 5 shows maybe 1 is worth watching.

:goodpost: Yeah, those clips had me beaming nostalgically. :) I'd totally forgotten about Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors. I used to really like Around the World with Willy Fog, too (no laughing please); I was only about six years-old when it last aired and it actually fuelled my imagination.

But, I agree, TV now is mostly appalling; the kids' shows in particular are woefully crap.

I used to watch She-Ra when I was a kid. God knows why I liked it. I tried watching two episodes on Netflix recently and it was awful.
