I'd love to see pics with the original Mark II if you've got it...And any of the other Marks for sizing comparison. :hi5:

I would like to see a side by side of the empty helmet and the Mark IV Stark Head. Please.

Okay cool will do. I want to see if I have the parts to throw together a quick Stark as well. I think I have some decent dress pants and a tee shirt. I got the exclusive version so would like to take some pics of the holo hand.

This figure is very nice. The metallic painting is just stunning.

I have mine in a suspended pose on the lighted base. Should I think twice about that, with the clip from the lighted base holding it up at the waist, even with the soft padding running along the inside of the clip? I don't want it to rub off the silver paint over time from the pressure of holding the figure up coupled with the squeezing of the clip.

I had a bit of an epiphany when taking the flying shots. If you turn the neck around backwards you get a much more natural neck angle and the head sits closer to the body and thus looks more "right".

Like so:

I think it compares fairly favorably with the film at this point.

you're right :exactly:. I realized a couple months. I did the same test with my MARKIV. placing the neck backwards. the head is in a better position
the problem is that hot toys designed very poorly all necks ironman:lecture
heads are very high and very backward.
the head should go closer to the body and more forward

I agree with you, and it would be something great that someone found a solution

I agree, ALL the heads are like that. The original Mark II and III suffer a bit less from it but it's still a problem. The first TDK figure had the same issue. Actually it's pretty common across the board on 1/6 scale necks where they're sculpted way too straight. The neck in a relaxed position tends towards a forward angle, not straight up and down.

nice comparison shots dedguy

im not sure if it was asked already but which fig do you prefer?

Out of? The new and old? The new is so much better it's hard to fully express how much better it is. I don't care about the paint as much as some, although it is nice. I'm more concerned with proportions and overall silhouette and the new Mark II is by far the best Hot Toys has done to date. Including all the other Iron Man 2 figures.

My only complain is the forearms which are among the few obviously re-used pieces.

groovy, i would like to get me a second unleashed. the design of the mark ii is very sleek.

and you get three heads which is not too shabby

Yeah it's full of great features and accessories. I really really hope they do a new Mark III. It seems like a sure thing but who knows with Hot Toys. This seems like it's already pretty purpose built to include battle damaged parts too.
