Thats intriguiging. The Mark II AU figure is vastly superior to both Mark III figures, so that could be the best Mark III figure if the paint application ia done well.

Edit: I'm actually thinking about trying this...bit have never painted any plastic toys. What is the best paint to use?

Acrylics... and top coats but the different materials may react differently to the alcohols used in some acrylics

I have also started thinking about this - would make for a pretty great mark 3 with a good paint app and filling in the rivet holes. I also have no paint experience! would probably try and get someone who knows what they are doing to do it for me

Found them.

Is the rumor that HT will do a 2.0 still floating around? I would have thought they would have done it by now.

I don't believe anything was official. There was lots of talk around here for why they should do a 2.0 (or 3.0 if you count the BD version), and I think people felt so strongly about it that it became almost impossible for HT not to release one. The announcement of the Die Cast line was another rumor boost and perceived indication that a new version was coming down the pipe - and, again in some people's minds - it explained why they didn't release a new version from the Mark II AU mold: they were getting it ready in die cast instead.

Ok, good explanation. I don't know how I will like the die-cast figures yet. I'm wondering what will come out first? Mark 42, IP, War Machine Mark 2, or Robocop?

P.S As soon as I get extra money, I'm getting AU Mark 2.

It's a good looking figure. My only issues are a slightly long neck (which is only visible at certain angles) and a general lack of articulation. Otherwise, it's really great and worth picking up. If I had customization skills/money I'd buy a second one, fill in the rivet holes, and give it the Mark III paint job.

I didn't realize it didn't have much articulation. That's too bad.

That doesn't sound too bad then. I don't use the abs that much since I don't repose that much. Just curious is War Machine the same way?

War Machine's torso rotates and does a little ab crunch but you really want to be careful when doing so. People have reported him snapping in two. I have the Milk version, which I would assume is the same construction, but haven't had any issues.
