both movies also have heroes who's name ends in Man

and the hero is really a rich playboy billionaire, who's money comes from what he inherited from his father after his father died, and from his father's business after he took over. they both also use very cool high tech gadgest/suits. ooh and their eyes light up to show details about their surroundings

what am i missing? :monkey3

Potential Spoiler Warning!

No really

ok... I warned you.

The badies at the end of the trailer are "Drones" (look unmanned with small robot heads too small for helmets) at least 5 models/designs and are property of the Ol' USA.

Most or all can fly and are HEAVILY armed.
:naughty

Cool looking stuff.

Yeah i knew about the drones, its cool that the government is behind them though, I think it was mike who said they were starks and hammer took them over or something, can't quite remeber. I cannot wait for this movie!

That USA owns them eh? Originally in the script treatments released a while back they were "security" for the Stark Expo...

“For the story on how Robert [Downey, Jr.] had to come in and save someone from evil robots well, in the scene, We are at the Tony Stark World’s fair in New York and it is mainly a technology expo. Hammer technology is there too. All of a sudden there are "Drones" that fly in and attack the spectators. These drones were made from Tony Stark’s Iron Man suit and they look very similar to his suit but the difference is that there is almost no head and the color is beige and silver. The "bad guy" has taken over these "drones" and he is making them attack the crowd.

Also Mickey Rourke will definitely be armored in his second battle because on Wednesday he had a scene where he had to do an evil walk. Mickey had on his same Whiplash costume (Whips and all), but this time he had the same tracking markers that Robert had when he was in the half suit, inside Randy’s Donuts. The tracking markers will be used for the CGI that will make up crimson dynamo/ whiplash armor.

While it could have been rewritten, that news came from an "insider" on the set....

damn...you are a true iron man encyclopedia :lol

i have a question for you then...in the first movie, when stark goes to gulmira, he flies over a terrorist/weapon base, and starts blowing up the missiles using the blasts his hands shoot out (correct term?). he shot those missiles while flying, and while it looked awesome, i was thinking to myself "wait, how could he shoot forward, and not get thrown back? if the mechanisms in his hands were made originally to balance his flight, then how could he shoot blasts while in flight?" i'm not sure if i'm making full sense, but when i re-watched the movie i caught that, and i was curious...you seem like the person who'd know the answer

Well the Repulsor Rays are pure fiction even in their conception. Even assuming that Iron Man can convert any stored energy in his suit into laser light with 100 percent efficiency, generating a beam powerful enough to melt a fist-sized hole through a half-inch-thick steel plate (which any comic book fan can tell you is well within Shellhead's capabilities) would require an energy pulse of over two gigawatts of power, greater than the output of a nuclear power plant.

Its in that factoid though comes your answer. The Repulsors in his palms were to stabilize and balance flight, which is why in the Mark 2 testing sequence he blasts into the building without them. The thing is that, that is at a high percentage of power from his Arc Reactor without something else channeling. The palm repulsors syphon power from his Arc Reactor and creates an equilibrium that allows him to control the flight boots. When he fires a blast from his palm repulsors it drains an outstanding amount of energy temporarily from his Arc which depowers his boots enough to create a hover. He doesn't get thrown back because they are focused blasts of energy but work like a gun with minimal kickback, he does flinch a bit but not a lot if you watch it again especially in HD. Once the blast is depleted the boots and repulsors charge back up and he flies. He could fire while in flight but the danger is that if he does fire while in accelerated flight and his suit powers down too much he would freefall or it would even cause his natural momentum to carry him into the nearest object at his original speed. Which is why the hover is the safest way to discharge.

Damn...impressive answer. Mine would have been "he just can".

well, that works too...but mike explained it more. thanks mike, that did help me understand the scene a bit more (and i do know that the tech does not exist......yet) you really are like a human encyclopedia for iron man :lol
