I just watched the new trailer and it was awsome. Now that I see that new armour as just his suitcase armour I am alot happier. It looked better than that hasbro figure but I still like the mark 3 more.

I didn't have a problem with the suitcase armor even before Mike's explanation. And I think its great that they are showing clear reasons for all the suits and not just making them for the hell of it. I can't wait for this movie.

I wander how many maquettes and life size busts Sideshow is going to release just from this movie..........prolly a crap load. This movie looks to be just as good as the first.

It's shaping up to have cooler and more elaborate battles and action, but I don't think it'll be a better overall film unless it mixes all that with an equal ammount of story that the first one had. I loved the time spent with the charactes in IM 1, that's the main reason I liked the movie actually, so I hope that continues in IM2.

I'm sure it will. It looks like Whiplash is going to have a pretty good backstory and I expect some good interactions between him and Stark. I also think it'll lead to some more maturity from Stark.

I fully expect Whiplash to be the Crimson Dynamo by the end of the film now. I can't see him working on all those Hammer Drones and not end up with a new suit of armor himself. Because it looks like his 'whiplash' look is just at the race track and then he gets the crap kicked out of him by the suitcase, goes to jail, gets freed, and then works for Hammer. And I can't see him just being done after that so he'll probably get his own armor and have a final fight with Iron Man and War Machine at the end.

I hope so, I've really come to enjoy when these films actually develop characters and don't just throw you cool looking characters fighting it out.

I agree. And I think Tony Stark is a great character for that because he has so many personalty flaws and recognizes it, but on one level he embraces and flaunts it while also trying to do the right thing. There's some great lines in the first movie that highlight that like when he's talking about not manufacturing weapons being the right thing and he says, "This is a new direction for me, I mean, for the company." Or vice versa, I can't recall which.

Exactly, with a lot of these comic characters like Bruce Wayne, Bruce Banner, Tony Stark, there's a lot of room to explore how they cope with their situations and I find that makes for better films. There've been some entertaining comic book based movies that focus more on events than characters, but the more captivating ones give you both, Nolan's Batman, the 2008 Hulk, Iron Man 1, some of my most favorite comic movies.

This trailer was so awesome. I kinda wish they didn't reveal the suitcase armor though and kept that as a surprise when I saw the movie.

Even Tony has all the suits...

If you notice in the trailer when it shows all the suits being scanned, the Mark 3 has "Battle Damaged" underneath. You don't get to see it fully, but it sure looks like it's spelling it out. :lol

Based on the trailer, IM2 seems like it's going to really push Tony's lab tech, which should be cool, I really liked the 3D wire frame stuff he used to work out the Mark 2 design.

director jon favreau's a pretty savvy filmmaker. i'll bet he is keeping some big reveals away from the trailers and saving some surprises for the audience. topmost of which is the final whiplash armour. i'm sure it'll look pretty wicked.
