Yeah, I'm not liking how they set up that poster. It makes it look like War Machine is the bad guy, especially with the red eyes. War Machine looks awesome though, but the poster is going to give the general public the wrong impression.

Yeah, they should be doing this instead, so we know that they're friends

If you watch a lot of the earlier Favreau interviews he does mention how Tony has never faced someone with the power of War Machine, having someone so matched. There actually might be a scene or two where they have to go head to head and let's not forget that Justin Hammer seems (from the SDCC trailer) to be the one to outfit and rig up War Machine at Rhodey's request and Hammer is a notable Marvel villain.

Rhodey went a bit nuts at one point though did nt he?Wearing the War Machine armour that was tailored to Tonys neural settings??

Yeah, that's a good point.
War Machine might be rigged by Hammer to work agaisnt Rhodes will. Who knows? The one problem if that's the case, we are getting into the Batman and Spiderman road of too many villians spoiling the broth

A couple of times. Other times it was to "save" Tony either from himself or armor that was malfunctioning. The thing is in War Machine v1 #7, Rhodes gets involved in International affairs and the actions of War Machine in Imaya were deemed so controversial and Stark felt that Rhodes was misusing the armor.

When Rhodes needed to fix the armor that had been damaged he returned to Stark Enterprises to get the blueprints and specifications so he could make his own repairs and Stark refused and demanded that Rhodes return the armor to him. That lead to one of the bigger fights between the two in their respective armors.

One interesting note is that the fight was stopped via an EMP cannon blast by Bethany Cabeand while their armor was frozen and rebooting, the Mandarin captured Rhodes and Stark and discovered their identities. Something like that might set up another film...

My guess is the Goverment wants an Iron Man armor. Stark denies them. They steal/develop a knock off of Starks suit, using Hammer weapons to make it far more hardcore. Tony is ticked, Iron Man and War Machine throw down. Whiplash shows up, goes crazy, and Tony and Rodey team up at them to take him down. And then Fin Fang Foom shows up. Well maybe not that last part. But you get an Iron Man/War Machine throw down AND team up. Best of both worlds.

Yeah, that footage showed that Tony and Rhodey aren't exactly seeing eye to eye. And not only does Rhodey appear to go behind Tony's back to modify the suit, but it was implied that he testified against Tony in the Senate hearing. I imagine that they'll be at odds with each other for at least a portion of the film.

i cant wait for SS to make a maquette and/or a bust of War Machine, he defn looks bad ass so far :monkey5

Who cares what impression they get? It looks cool, they'll still see the movie and then they'll be pleasantly surprised to learn that there are actually TWO bad-ass good guys wearing armor suits.

I actually surprised that the eyes on War Machine are red. In the SDCC footage the eyes were a whitish-blue like Iron Man's. Having them change must be done in editing, I like it and hope it stick more than just the poster.
