I was thinking that all of the suits are self controlled, or at least directed by Stark....but I did notice a very quick shot in the Spanish trailer that looked like a room full of people with some sort of harness coming over their heads, actually similiar to that one shot of Pepper where she looks like she is in pain and there is a silver metal harness over her shoulders.

I wonder if that is some sort of suit controlling device?

Doesn't Stark get the Extremis process and thus has the ability to control his technology? I'd say only one suit and War Machine/Iron Patriot are the only one's with people in them, the rest being controlled by Stark.
