However that don't make it a good film. KOTCS is at the same % as IM3 at RT at 78% fresh. KOTCS also made a ton of cash. I know it has it's fans and it's all relative but I think most agree now that KOTCS is not a 78% fresh movie. Hell Superman Returns is at 76% and I am finding harder and harder to find fans of that one.

I am not saying that IM3 is a bad film (I think it is but that is besides the point) I am just stating that critics and even fans sometimes get it wrong. That does not mean if you still love it 5 years from now that you are wrong. There are just some films that don't live beyond the hype.

I remember how great the overall reviews were for IM2, some saying it was better then IM1, and now many of the same critics are calling it a misfire.

Time will tell were this film will stand among the fans. It could go either way. I tend to think that it will go down in peoples minds. BUT I could be wrong and I am fine with that.

We all know some films get killed by the critics and the fans only to seen as true classics down the road. John Carpenter's The Thing comes to mind.

I wish I could enjoy it more and find the fun in it that many others here have.

Perhaps I will change my view with a second viewing on Blu Ray. It won't be the first time that has happened. I really hope it does happen.

My friend was saying the other day we need to go see it again because we must be wrong about it since so many love it LOL... My son wants to see it now so maybe I will see it again before Blu.

Your whole view on this movie is personal. That doesn't make it a bad film just because you didn't like it.

If I see that stupid Iron Man/Man of Steel photoshop one more time I'm going to snap.

That's why it's hard to have a discussion here, everybody think they are in the right. At least, we (the people that did not like the movie) can still point out the good things about the movie and parts that we liked. Everybody else treats it like it's a 10 out 10.

You may be sending some mixed signals here. :lol

It could. I kind of doubt it changes much. People that liked it might not and some that did not might end up liking it. In the end it doesn't mean anything. If I like it then it doesn't matter what others think nor should it matter what I think to someone else.

If I see that stupid Iron Man/Man of Steel photoshop one more time I'm going to snap.

If I could delete it I would.

I think I tried to stress that. I am not saying that I am right. I am just comparing this film with other films.

You mentioned how it's getting good reviews from critics and from fans that only comic fans seem to be upset.

I was making a point that good reviews from critics and fans don't always give the real picture. Time does.

I did not say that you would change your view. In fact I said I may even change mine.

But using critic reviews, popular opinion, or box office does not a good film make. That is the only point I was making.

Again I thought I was being pretty clear that this was how I saw things and how I think things for this film will play out. I also said that I could be wrong and that I have been wrong before. I even went as far as saying that I could be wrong about this film

I don't know. Is one not allowed to discuss things. I don't know how much more I could stress that this was a theory.

Oh well. I guess I should just leave you all to your love fest and come back in three years and say "I told you so" ----- JOKE/ Just kidding/ Not serious/ Sarcasm/ not really saying that you will change your mind!!! There is that better?

You might be exaggerating here.:lecture

The Bold and the beautiful.

The Josh - It is my attempt to be PC and not hurt anyone's feelings. I am trying to say (throughout the post) that While I Do think it's a bad movie that does not mean that I am right. I am willing to say that I am wrong since the majority seem to like it and that my opinion may change (as I have only seen it once). I am not following it up with a slam. I am not saying flat out that it is a bad film (even though I think it is) I was just saying that other films that are a hit with the public and the critics does not give the stamp of greatness since other films have lost their appeal after the hype has left.

In all honesty if people are that thin skinned that I cant post they way I did without people getting upset I have to honestly say that the problem lies with them.

If someone wrote. I am not saying it's a great film, it might be bad, but I loved it and I think it is a great film and here is why. Then I would not in anyway read something more into that.

I am just trying to have a discussion like I would with my friends around a game of cards (actually there would be more cursing and much less concern about feelings). Perhaps that is thy way I should approach this :)

That is all your opinion. Why do you doubt it. How do you know Yet you think it could? I am confused ;) :)

Perhaps I am crazy but I really think I have bee going out of my way to say my opinion about the film does not mean I am right. I am just trying to point out that other films get good reviews that turn out to be hated over the years just as Celtic was pointing out how well the film is being received by everyone but comic fans.

No, you and your ilk are annoying. You're doing the same stuff Solid Snake was.

You can only make the same post so many different ways. You don't like it, you've said you don't like it, that's great. I could see if this was the first time you were posting your thoughts but it isn't. Every page though? Not even the people that love and enjoy it post that much.

Yeah, to be honest, I don't even understand why people here keep saying "Well, that's just your opinion". No ****, guess who said it? Off course is MY OPINION. No one here is claiming to have some hard data on why the movie sucks or why it's good (though some here try to use box office as a measure for quality).

Must be some sort of defense mechanism against movie criticism.

What enlightening statements have you brought to the conversation.

I just went back 20++ pages and I could not find that photo.

As I said.... Sensitive.

Do any of you discuss films with your friends after you see a film. What happens when you really disagree. Do you all worry about each others feeling and stress IMO and all that. My goodness people. I would hope there is some major ball busting and insults being thrown around without anyone getting really upset. My sister in Law has to be all touchy and feely when we discuss films. If I present her with reasons why I like a film or dislike it I get the Standard "Well that is you opinion and you have to respect mine" I hate talking film with her I have to tip toe and be sure not to upset her. Were is the fun in critiquing a film with someone if you can't get into it and defend your point of view.

I get upset about the double standard that is thrown the way of the non fans. We are told that we are just stating opinion not fact and blah blah blah while I went out of my way to not do that.

Somehow for whatever reason the printed word seems so much more official then a discussion.

What do people want from these boards. Just a bunch of Like minded people to agree with? Blah??

I am not trying to get anyone to change their mind I am just trying to have a fun conversation about IM3 and films in general.

I really don't have a reply to main part in this.

It is. Didn't say otherwise. Like with lots of things people change sides overtime. I have my doubts it will dramatically move one way or the other. Hopefully you're less confused. If not I'm sorry. :lol

If I see that poster again someone is getting an infraction. It was posted once and deleted for trolling.

Maybe it's time to start making 2 separate threads. Ex:

"Iron Man 3 Positive Feedback thread" and "IM3 Negative Feedback Thread"

That way people can actually discuss it without bickering.
