Who cares about ethnicity or nationality? Mandarin orange is going to die regardless.

Obidiah Stane was American, his ass blew up as Iron Monger. Whiplash was Russian, his ass blew up as Whiplash. Mandarin Orange is going to suffer the same fate.

Malaysian is not an ethnicity, it's a national/geographical identification. malay is a race.

btw, those who try to rationalise that indians are not considered asian are just of a different mind. which they're entitled to, of course. but the simple fact is, indians ARE asians. and i have indian colleagues from india who clearly identify themselves as asians. they never used the term "south" asians, just plain "asians". the topic came up during conversation about the asian games (kinda like the olympics).

anyway, whatever man. i agree this thread is getting way off topic. enough said on this from me.

Well, Russia is in the Asian continent so that does make them technically Asia though politically they have alligned themselves with the EU.

I mean China and Russia are practically neighbours!!!

And there is this area in China near the Russian border where the Chinese there actually looks like white people I kid you not!!!

Mandarin is a hard character. If they had cast a Chinese man, they'd be in trouble for stereotyping. If they cast a white man, they'd be in trouble for white washing. Catch 22. I understand their dilemma in this instance and won't cry foul at the whitewashing. Usually I'm against it but they've stated their logic on the matter and I'll say whatever and go with it. I know nothing of this character anyways so won't be upset about it.

Makes sense. Marvel characters are predominately in NYC and Movie Tony is in Malibu. This gives them a story reason to move him.
