The new film IM suit looks awesome, and I'd be mighty happy with a 1/4 scale
Comiquette or PF figure of that armor with a light-up feature. Also I hope that
there is stealth armor (I doubt it, but I can still hope) in the movie as I'd love
to see that as well.

Looks like I might just get my wish for the stealth armor!

OK - It may not end up being stealth armor, but I'll bet whatever
armor it ends up being, it'll look great. Comiquette? PF? Please?

JS :D

huh. Well its only logical that there'd be a Mark II version since the Origin is Mark I and the modern is Mark III. Steath is a possiblity but my money is on something more silver age like this:

To show the progression from Mark I to Mark III. There is a chance for Steath to make a cameo though, I remember Favarau saying in an interview that Iron Man is going to be Iron heavy and show off multiple suits even if Tony isn't donning them all....I'll see if I can fetch that online again....

I'm loving all the shots of the Mark III armor, exactly what I wanted to see. I'm trying to get that video of him walking around up but it keeps crashing.
As to what the Mark II armor will be, I'm hoping it'll be the classic 1970's era armor, save stealth armor for the sequel. ;)

hmmm... i wonder if there is any chance of seeing Ironmonger in the movie

Very Nice!!!

It'll be interesting how Iron Monger and Mandarin are both handled in this film since Iron Monger's history is so vast. For those whom aren't in the know:

Origin and backstory of the Iron Monger:

The ruthless industrialist Obidiah Stane came closer to destroying Iron Man than any super-villain has to date; yet the Iron Monger Armor, built and worn by Stane himself, was only the final chess piece in Stane's long endgame.....

Stane, a multi-millionaire munitions dealer, was a vicious corporate raider that wished to take control of Stark International. He believed that Stark was foolishly ignoring the company's potential by not accepting weapons contracts--a policy Tony Stark implemented years earlier. Obidiah Stane all but ruined Tony Stark by setting into motion a scheme that attacked Stark financially and psychologically.

The beautiful Indries Moomji acted as Stane's secret operative, toying with Stark's emotions, manipulating him, and finally dumping him. Shattered, Stark spiralled down into alcoholism, and ended ended up a penniless drunk living in the streets. Stark International became Stane International, and Jim Rhodes became Iron Man.

Eventually Iron Man Tony Stark returned, but not before Stane manipulated his life some more (most notably when Stane killed Morley Erwin). Iron Man avenged Morley's death with his new red and silver armor--facing the awesome force of the Iron Monger.

The Iron Monger Armor was based on Tony Stark's own plans, plans the alcoholic Stark left behind when he lost his company. Stane found them in one of Stark's notebooks, taking the scribblings about the Iron Man amor and improved the designs suggested at a cost of more than $500 million. The result was a suit of armor that was a very direct threat to the Iron Man Armor.

At one point, Stane had planned to sell copies of the armor en masse to te highest bidder; however, he was also quite fond of the notion that he might just outfit his own Iron Monger army for global domination. Unfortunately for Stane, Iron Man returned to thwart those plans, and Stane was forced to wear the armor himself in a last ditch attempt to finish Iron Man, once and for all.

With the Iron Monger suit Stane made the mistake of assuming that bigger is always better. He added amplified strength and a tougher armor, while upgrading most of Stark's standard features: repulsor rays (more powerful than IM's); chestmounted laser projector; boot jets. IRON MAN: THE LEGEND rated the Monger 7 out of 10 on the competitive scale, compared to IM.

The armor's downfall was the fact that it was remotely controlled by computer. A fact that, while connected, gave the inexperienced Stane an advantage over Stark, but once severed, caused the suit to freeze up, forcing Stane to revert to his cowardly ways. In the end, Stane chose to deny Stark the satisfaction of truly winning. He turned his repulsor on himself, and quit the grand game.

Stane has already been cast and pics of Iron Monger already up and running....obviously the story must change but how to incorporate Mandarin?

Every time I see new pictures of the Mark III armor I get goosebumps. I never thought they'd be able to accurately capture the look of the armor in a costume.
I really hope Medicom makes some RAH Iron Man figures that can come close to the actual costume. :drool

Stan Winston + Iron Man = very expensive maquette.

Light up exclusive seems a cert.

Awesome, I'd be all over it.

Here's hoping. With comic book movies you never really know until they hit the big screen.

So true. But if they follow some rules, they end up pretty good.

Rule 1- DON'T CHANGE THE POWERS! Most important, a modify is ok depending (Spideys web shooters, yeah it bugged me a bit but I got over it and the story didn't suffer and P.Parker's character didn't suffer either from it. As where giving DOOM powers CHANGED his character totally, part of Dooms appeal was he was just a driven mad man who had to steal powers. LAME)

Rule 2- DON'T CHANGE THE ORIGIN (I mean that in a superficial way. Of COURSE they have to be tweaked ever so slightly to modernize them a pinch and to make a good plot, but as long as the basics are there.)

Rule 3-DON'T CAST SOMEONE JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE FAMOUS (Nick Cage, George Cloony, Ben Affleck, Jessica Alba....I'm looking your way. Box office draw, yeah, bad for the role TOTALLY! Movie suffers.)

Rule 4-USE GOOD DIRECTORS (I know, REAL superficial, but whatever. That's a personal opinion I guess. Rami, love him, Burton, love him, Singer...well....he did the X movies well:monkey3 but don't get jerks who've directed Barber Shop, Rush Hour and crap like that! Favreau has QUITE an impressive portfolio and I'm a fan. Sure no action, but he TELLS GOOD STORIES! So I have hope.)

Of course that's all really MY opinion, but for what I like the pattern seems to hold up.

All good points. To me, Rule #4 is the most important of them all.
