They showed him working on modular pieces but I found it odd they just decided that suits were like a car he could step into and out of anytime he chose to with no effort.
Even in Avengers we saw he still needed a gantry of some type to help him.

I agree.

One of the things that I found so cool about the first Iron Man film was that while the technology was highly advanced, it was still just within the realm of believability. You could almost believe that something like this could really exist.

Every film they have taken it farther and farther away from this, what with a gantry that can disassemble the armor while Tony is walking, a flying armor that can catch Tony assemble itself and boot up before he hits the ground, and now modular armor that flys and assembles itself on Tony.

Sure it makes for cool CGI, but you lose something the farther and farther you move from reality.

A nano particle suit which is stored inside Tony's body and assembles itself (or whatever) would just be kind of stupid.

It was parked outside like a convertible car with the suit opened and anyone could prolly just jumped inside to get a feel of what it feels like inside.

Which kinda reminds me though, did the army dude who stole the IP suit good at hacking computers too? I thought he was an ex military dude whos good at hand to hand combat. He manage to broke through the IP patriot system and override it to fly on its on, despite having the president wearing the armor.

They actually account for themselves quite well, but the Extremis soldiers are tough bastiches.
Dunno. Sounds like a plot hole to me

So is getting hit by the bus? :lol
:slap :pfft:

In Avengers, the Mark VI is removed with a Gantry, the Mark VII deploys with help from the bracelets, no gantry required and provided entry/exit similar to that shown in IM3.

I found it odd that he was still using the Mark VII at all, he's built 42 suits, and the 7 is still the best day to day suit??
Maybe he built each suit to serve different purposes and because of his obsession with them. Also, I think the Mark 42 is an advanced suit technologically and not necessarily in firepower i.e. a proto and Mk VII is still the most capable combat suit.

I just put that down to comics logic. :D

Best not to think too deeply about these things, otherwise we'd realise the sudden acceleration/decelerations Tony is subject to inside the suit would reduce him to squishy red toothpaste....
Even I'd not like to delve deeper. I'm just thinking wth? Suddenly you realise that in reality the suit wouldn't hold up when previously it has endured poundings from a tank, high altitude crashes, Monger, Mark II, Iron Whiplash and recently Thor?? Sorry to say but that's plain stupid.

:exactly:

The Iron Men depicted in part 3 were like pieces of tofu.

Yup, pretty much.

The suit could be put on in like split seconds?! during the mansion blew up scene, where tony sent the armor to be put on to Pepper.

Because getting bitten by a radioactive spider and being able to crawl walls is believable? Like getting blasted by high doses of gamma radiation allows you to turn into the Hulk? They're comic book movies. Demand too much reality from them, you'll go insane.

My rule for watching these movies, go in, turn higher reasoning off, and enjoy the ride. And when all is said and done, it's a fun ride. :)

Actually, the suit is closed and open up afterwards when Tony gets closer. I watch the movie for the 2nd time to notice this.

Correct me if I'm wrong, Tony only wear MK 42 and 33, may be 1 more suit for a few seconds but dont remember which (MK 40?), Heartbreaker got crushed by Pepper with 1 punch ...... Red Snapper got about 2 to 3 second screen time ...... Iron Patriot dont get any major fight scence and I dont see WM anywhere ...... MK 39 the Sub Orbital suit that I like most got what ... half a second screen time? MK 38 IGOR got 2 second screen time? MK 7 got more screen time than most of the suit ... :panic::panic::panic:

Since I dont like the looks of 42, I might end up only getting the Patriot. :panic::panic::panic:

Iron Patriot kinda suck in IM3 though. Maybe if it comes with President Ellis sculpt, I'll chain it in crucifixion pose and hang it in the ceiling. :lol

Mk. 42 got the most screen time....Tony also wore Mk.7, 33, 40... and at least another 1 or 2 more suits. Heartbreaker just flew Rhodey away, Rhodey hanging on.

I believe this was the other armor that was modular, broke to a few pieces to attack and reassemble. Tony called it something that I could not quite catch.

In final battle, Tony wears 3 and half suit which is Silver Centurion, Mark 16(maybe)after Pepper fall, Shotgun and half armor after he blows Mark 42. Last armor that attack Pepper probably armor with Mark VII design.

Id be down for an open suit from Hot Toys to pose with Stark.

That's too much for HT i'll say.

If I didnt see all those IM suit before the movie, they will all looks the same to me lol, HT better rethink their IM line up, 15 armor may be too many :panic::panic::panic:

15 different suits will be too much indeed.

Better re make mark VI and VII as die casts, along with the other old suits which have more screen time . :lol

I believe it was 15 figures... of which 8 (9 if you count BD Mk.7) has already been announced
