I would not have taken that deal either. I was thankful mine had no lighting issues,
and the helmet is painted solid with no lighted "smile".

It has a couple paint issues, but nothing so bad that it takes away from the overall statue.

Screw that I wouldn't keep a broken statue for basically 10% off. Maybe if they refunded 50% of it I'd consider but 10% hell no. Send that back.

"Then no matter what I am not keeping it, and you can keep this trash in your warehouse where it belongs" should be your standard response :)

Oh it was, i said a lot more crap then that :hi5:
I love how there response is that MY standards are to high and they cant meet my standards. My standards are basically i want a non defective statue lol

lol so true. If I paid $2000 for a statue I'd at least want one of the main selling points of the statue that defines the character (Light up feature of the suit) to work. I can deal with slight marks and scratches, but that part not working that's not high standards at all.

I think we have been through this fifty times already, but he is NOT the wrong color.
The Mark VII armor is not the same red as the Mark IV and VI. Not in most screen shots from Avengers, anyway.
I got mine, and the color looks good to me.

The Mark III is not nearly as eye-catching as this one, especially with the lights in the hands and feet.

The arc reactor is blank. We all get it. But guess what... so was the Mark III version.
So are the LSB versions of the Mark VII and Mark XLII. Could I live without the blue tint? Sure could.
But it is what it is.

Just to clear this point up....its actually true in regards to the production piece being the actual correct colour...although some still believe that the prototype red is actually correct...its not :horror The actual burgundy colour on the production piece is far more movie accurate than the proto so its basically what people prefer at the end of the day. That's why when a lot of collectors ask me for advice before purchasing this particular piece, I always state that if your after the same look as what you saw from Comic Con, then your best off not getting this but if you don't mind the colour looking more movie accurate then this piece is actually spot on.

I think the best example of this other than the pics from movie is to watch the end scene of Avengers where Stark is lieing on the ground and Hulk's roar wakes him up....check out the colour of his suit and you'll see clearly that its more burgundy rather than red as what was shown at Comic Con.

At the end of the day, all of Tony's armours had different tones of red...some brighter, some darker :)

In regards to the best IM collectible to date? Well, again its all preference at the end of the day but in my opinion I still think the MKIII LSF is untouchable out of Sideshows IM releases. Yes, the MKVII LSF has the very cool removable ammo packs and more lights but it's let down imo by the dull gold tones of the faceplate which lets not beat about the bush, should be metallic! I feel the MKIII just had more going for it in terms of aesthetics and overall badassness!!! :lol

However, my favourite IM piece in my collection period still has to be my custom MKI half scale...that piece just rocks!! :rock

If you get one that has minimum issues, it is well worth it. I ended up getting mine for $100 off, plus free shipping.

I ended up getting my MKVII LSF for $800 :horror :horror

That MKI is stunning!!!! I need an IM 1:2 in my life Andy!!!

So sideshow came back with $35 in reward points......... for 3 Fed up statues its only worth $35.... lol what a joke.

I hope you get a good one also but chances are you wont. out of the 5 people that have been posting about it here 2 kept theirs with flaws and 3 returned there.

A quick review of the last few pages proves this untrue. I think those with good ones have been letting others vent (and rightfully so), but some of us have received good production pieces. There's more than one flavor of kool-aid going around apparently.

Still love mine... the finish on it is amazing. I didn't have any significant paint, lighting, base or magnet problems.

As I said before, the "burgundy" color matches many of the movie scenes. I think this armor was always intended to be a different hue than the Mark III.

If you expect the red to be the same as the Mark III, yes, you will be disappointed. If you expect it to match the prototype red, you may be disappointed. If you expect it to match EVERY scene in the movie, you might be disappointed. That being said, if they had made the mark VII LSF "hot rod red," it wouldn't match every scene in the movie either.

Anyway, just wanted to provide another point of view.

If you expect any Sideshow Iron Man product to match the prototype, you will be disappointed.

I am picking mine up tomorrow and after reading this thread I am both excited and scared at the same time. I haven't been having much luck with collectibles lately so I am not expecting a good outcome. Luckily I can check it before I buy it and if it's not 100% then it stays where it is. I am also picking up the T-800 battle damaged PF but I haven't heard of any issues with it so far. Thanks to this thread I now know what to look for anyway.
