So... finally got mine! 3 months later than everyone (or anyone should I say since almost everybody returned theirs) else...
First impression: WOW!
The presence of this is just truly AMAZING! There was 6 other people in the store when I was getting it out of the box and they were all "awwwww"!!!
Now... is it $2k perfect?
No. Simply No.
The red... or burgundy should I saw is well... hum... burgundy. But, it is as per Avengers Iron Man. We've all seen the movie, pictures from it and let's all be honest with ourselves, he's not hot rod red in the movie, he is burgundy. But still... should SSC should have gone with the hot rod red color, maybe... what am I saying... YES THEY SHOULD HAVE! It would have been much much much better IMO. It still doesn't look bad, but I agree with you all, the red from proto was much
Now, after reading all and every single review from you guys, I knew what to look for. Mine is:
-
Strong magnets: (REALLY strong). To remove the arms, I need my both hands since they won't move that easily. Even the back piece that everyone complaints about falling... well mine is well in place and don't even tilt at all! Good
-
Lights: Everything works like a charm. No difference in the eyes either. Perfect here.
-
Base: Ok... this I never understood the complaining about the painting and all. It's a base... period. No one looks at it... So it's good here.
-
Painting: Gloss in all its glory. No big smudge, some tiny paint chip (nothing major), but still... $2k for not the perfection?
And unfortunately, as I said, it's not perfect.
- One black line on the left shoulder. Not that noticeable and also, it feel like kinda part of the design.. Yeah... I know... I'm not OCD like some guys here... it bothers me a bit, but not that much...
- The paint around the arc. Hum... this bothers me much more but it's really hard to notice with poor lighting (like where mine is displayed now). You see, when I was in the store, they had great lighting so it was easy to see that the central piece around the arc is flat and not as gloss as all the rest. You can notice when looking at the abs just below that are gloss.
Once again, this is hard to see with poor lighting AND I'm a terrible photograph... so...
I've asked my comic book store to ask SSC for a replacement part for the arc/torso and also for the left arm. Also to send the instructions/pamphlet since it was not included. I have 100% trust in my reseller to go the extra mile and fix my issues. Let's just hope SSC listens...
Final word:
My IM MKVII LSF is a keeper. I'm a crazy IM fan AND compared to other people's LSF (Atheris, I'm looking at you), mine is not bad at all. Some guys here received piece of garbage with so apparent defects that SSC should be ashamed to put their sticker on the box!
Oh and... should it have been $1k - $1300, definitely!!! At $2k, it's wayyyy too much for what it is IMO and if SSC wants to continue the LSF line, they need to review their pricing.
