The battle between the hulk and abomination was probably the best superhero fight I've ever seen. I give the movie an 8/10. But I think the sequels stand to be even better now that most of the history is out of the way.

That's about the same score I have given the movie. 8-8.5.
The fight was just plain awesome the absolute brute power that came off it... man o man... :monkey5

Hulk 2 News:

https://www.iwatchstuff.com/2008/06/nasally_shouts_of_a_sweaty_cro.php

The comic book community doesn't always know what's best for it. There's a reason so many comic fans die alone, crushed under boxes of stiffly bagged and boarded first issues, their final moments filled with thoughts of Psylocke's full thighs, quiet prayers that they never somehow return from the dead with new powers (because it was really stupid when that happened with Superman), and the tragic realization that maybe the life decisions leading up to this untimely demise weren't necessarily the best. But regardless of their decision-making talents, Incredible Hulk director Louis Leterrier says it might be the fans who decide the villain in his superhero sequel. (That's us!) From MTV:

“I think that if we get to ‘Hulk 2′ I would go to Comic-Con and ask the crowd of people that actually love the movies, which one would you prefer to see, Samson or the Leader?” Leterrier told MTV News.
For his part, Leterrier said that he would prefer The Leader, on the grounds that a face-off between him and the Hulk would be a different sort of smash-fest than the climactic battle of the first film.

“Both are very interesting. [But] there’s something unstoppable about [Leader] and it’s just not the same thing. It’s just different,” he said of the super-brilliant character played in the film by Tim Blake Nelson. “The fact that he controls stuff with his mind, I just like that.”

Has Leterrier never seen a superhero sequel before? Clearly the next movie should have every villain crammed into it, with a dense program handed out beforehand providing the sole explanation of who anyone is because there is absolutely no time for characterization through all the CGI punching. That mode of thought seems to have worked brilliantly so far; let's stick with it.

I liked it. The story moved well and kept my attention. It was better than I thought it was going to be. I'd be interested in seeing what Norton wanted to include. I thought he was good. Tyler was also good but hard to look at. I don't find her attractive at all. I think the Hulk looked good but is still way too big, IMO. Loved the "car gloves". Thought the Abomination looked silly. I'll probably go see it again.

I still think the first movie gets judged too harshly as I really liked the page flipping between scenes and thought the Hulk v.s. fighter jets in the Southwest was straight outta the comics!

It'll be fun to see the other Marvel Heroes eventually team up.

I walked out of it... seriously. I liked how they did Bruce and the whole back story.. and though the HulK was visually better, it just didn't hold my interest... (felt like I've seen it before) and I like The Hulk. I will buy the DVD when it comes out... to finish watching it. ;)

Incredible Hulk gets a 9/10 from me. Ang Lee's Hulk gets a 3/10.

The only movie I walked out of was Day After Tomorrow. What the hell was I thinking about watching a nature disaster movie?!

I walked out of Mortal Kombat II. I had some things to do.. it was Day time prices.. I was borderlined bored.

I almost walked out of The Shadow...was so boring.

I also came VERY close to walking out of Indy IV...wish I did.

As for Hulk, saw it twice and loved it both times.

I will be buying the blu-ray for sure this Nov.

Manchester UK seemed to go hulk crazy , they had a banner the size of a house , cardboard cars hanging by string as if the hulk was throwing them , hulk posters almost everywhere and of course a life size hulk ! :rock:rock

I felt like walking out with it and taking it home.
The movie I thought was pretty good , gets a solid 7/10 , Iron man I really liked more , 9/10 for that. :)

See below.

It wasn't really explained, but eluded to. It all goes back to Blonsky's psyche even before he's exposed to the SSS. Remember this dialogue between Blonsky and Ross: Ross tells Blonsky he should have been a Colonel by now. And Blonsky is still just a Captain, 3 grades below a Colonel. Agreeing to take the SSS is Blonsky's way of gaining the power he feels he should have already had by now.

I didn't get this out of that conversation. I got Blonsky not wanting to be a leader. He wanted to be a doer. And chose to not progress in the ranks. The SSS was just a way to enhance that and he embraced it with gusto.

I can't believe I missed the original thread post by threeonesix. Darth Cruel you are 100% on the mark. Ross comments that Blonsky should be a Colonel by now and Blonsky remarks "Nah, I'm a fighter." Blonsky then goes on to say that if he had the body he had 10 years ago with the knowledge that he has now that he'd be a force to be reckoned with.

Blonsky's hunt was for power and strength. He took the Super Solider Serum because it would give him exactly what he wanted which was a younger body with his higher intellect and fighting skills. He continued to take it because as powerful as he had become The Hulk was still more powerful. He went to Abomination because he came to the conclusion that the only way to beat The Hulk was to become like the Hulk. It was never about missed opportunity, it was about being the strongest and best there was.

Tyler was also good but hard to look at. I don't find her attractive at all.

Thank god someone else said it! I see nothing hot about Tyler. Totally ruins the LOTR trilogy for me.

Also the whole "actress is pregnant but the character isn't so lets cover up her stomach" thing during the movie pissed me off. Just play her as fat, jesus.

The movie should have ended with Banner opening his eyes. Stark should have appeared after the credits, just as fury did in Iron man. The film still rocked though

I think it should have ended with Banner opening his eyes and Stark Landing as Iron Man, his face mask poping open and him saying "You're a hard man to find Dr. Banner....." Why would stark go to Ross to recruit Banner/The hulk? Thats like Wolverine asking the Green Goblin if Spider-man wants to team up.

See I took it differently. I saw Stark going to Ross as the solution for his problem. Banner is off the radar at this point, even going by "David" (Did you catch that nice throwaway to the show?) and when he said "What if I told you we are putting a team together" to me that indicated that he was offering The Avengers to find and capture The Hulk.
