Re: J.J. Abrams' Star Trek

Hmmm...gonna have to grab me a box of Apple Jacks! Kabukiman how do these light up? By pressing a button on them? Also do they have a clip on them to hang them on your clothing? I want to get all of the federation insignias. Let me know. Thanks! :D

Re: J.J. Abrams' Star Trek

This weekend I bought Apple Jacks. Not because I like Apple Jacks. Because of this:

I got the Klingon one. I'll be back for the rest. I suspect I will be eating a lot of Kellogs products in the coming weeks: https://trekmovie.com/2009/03/26/report-on-kelloggs-star-trek-movie-promotions/

I'd be willing to trade you duplicates!

Re: J.J. Abrams' Star Trek

Yeah, you press the insignia and it lights up like a laser pointer without the laser, if that makes sense. I was a little disappointed to find that the bases shown on the box are not included and are not available. If I recall, there is no clip, but I'll double check when I get home tonight.

Sweet, once I get a couple more, I'll post a want/have list. :rock

Cool! I'll have to look up some recipes to use the cereal because I don't eat that much. I can make it up for the kids at school. Maybe some bars of some kind.

Anybody else want to get into this? That way there we won't have to buy so much cereal.

Goddamnit. I just bought a box of Crunch Berries....gotta go back for some Frosted Flakes. That wristband flash drive is ^^^^ing awesome.

In the entire grand human history that is the first time that phrase has ever been uttered-- and I found it gloriously funny.

Re: J.J. Abrams' Star Trek

I think that was intentional...even in season one of the classic series, Nimoy was smiling just a tad too often (or hardcore smirking, but looked the same)....

True.
Nimoy said it took awhile to dial in on the character and make him more stoic and in control.
The Trek universe explanation is that he was still wrestling with his human side. Watch "Where No man.." He's pretty emotional.

Re: J.J. Abrams' Star Trek

yeah the spock thing is totally in keeping with how he was in the early days. And as for the lens flare, I actually like that... but then I like style choices like that, I remember liking the blue flares seen in the early Fringe episodes too...

That's true, but I just figured it was because of it being a pilot and they changed his character for the actual series. I remember seeing him almost laugh when they came across those "singing leaves". It's been awhile since I've watched the original series.

There might be something mentioned in this new movie about it too.
