Just got my throne set up and damn is it impressive. Even without the slug on it. This is an absolute masterpiece. A big congatulations and thank you to Sideshow on this one.

The background image construction has begun What's great is, there is so much detail to the throne, I've actually shot several photographs of it and I'm going to use that to make texture to the walls of Jabba's throne area for the background, should be helpful in the realism of the appearance.

Ok so I wanted to give you guys an idea of where things will be going with this backdrop. Right now, I'm using a blueprint of the throne room to scale the elements to Jabba's throne, so with the walls and steps, right now the image is 52.35" wide by 20" high, now I haven't measured Jabba on the throne, but I will to make sure the height is accurrate but the width I have measured and hopefully this is in scale enough.
Now to detail the colors:
Black - Background Area / Fire Pit
Grey - Wall / Archway
Blue - Jabba throne
Red - First level of steps
Green - Second level of steps / Flooring for Fire Pit
Jabba's throne is slightly higher than the ground because looking at Jedi stills, the throne was a little elevated for the rolling mechanism so I factored that in to make things right, which should be about the same ammount of space as the feet on the throne.
Now obviously this thing will look good when done, this is just roughing in where all of the elements will be and their dimensions.

Man, great job Maul. Glad to see he has arrived. I will pay close attention to what you do with him as I think we have the same mind set. That being he is just part of the puzzle. I think we can pull it off. A whole throne scene that is. I want to use real material though and no photoshop. I guess I'm not sure where to start but this helps.

Gotta tell ya, many of you know how edgy I've been to get this thing, and I'm sure my slew of pictures is testament to my joy now, but I tell ya, I have yet to begin to fully enjoy this thing, I feel like I'm 5 years old on Christmas morning again, I got so pumped when he showed up at my office, I ran to one of my friends and I was like "come see my new toy". Thank you Sideshow, first you give me a full bodied Bruce the Shark, now a perfect ROTJ Jabba...you're like a collecting make a wish foundation, and you keep granting mine.

I'm really happy for you, MaulFan. You and me brother, we both have been aching for Jabba since SDCC, and I'm so stoked that Sideshow delivered on him! I can't wait to see more pics from you, and even more, I can't wait to finally get MY Jabba next Tuesday. The throne is so empty....
A couple of things-
1. I will take pics with my custom Slave Leia when Jabba arrives, and hopefully put to rest the scale issue.
2. Despite the bowl being closed off on top, I think it still looks great without thte pipe on top, and is a valid way of displaying (I love that a magnet is used to keep it all together, though!)
3. I shined a little light under the bowl, and the fluid really illuminate nicely! The frogs are exactly like the "Baby Nautilan" that Bib comes with.
4. Did I mention how excited and impatient I am to be getting my Jabba?
