It was a mining corporation with a hired mercenary force. And they still preferred to seek a diplomatic solution instead of going in there and killing everyone. And even when it DID come down to war, they still did it with as few casualties as possible, seeking to drive the Na'vi out instead of killing them all with a nuke or something.

Are you really suggesting that the humans were presented in any way objectively in this film? :dunno

Man i cant wait to see the film you 2 come up with

That is one of the dumber comebacks I've heard in a while. It is permissible for a non-moviemaker to believe that a moviemaker has done a crap job.

Why come on the thread though and bash it, surely if you dont like it then you wouldn't even entertain the thread i just don't get it!

Anyone who thinks this movie sucks or didn't like it. Well, you're in the minority. I think many of these people over analyze things, and are unable to check their brain at the door and just enjoy the damn movie for exactly what it is. If sci-fi and special effects are not your thing, why did you even go see it?
All the people who thought it sucked, should have know by now what they were going to see.
But like I said, they are in the very small minority, and thanks for help making the movie even more money than it should have :)
I'm off to my 3rd viewing, or should I say "experience".

Yes I love this movie, and no my name isn't Lightwave. lol
But I'm just as giddy about seeing it over again in 3D a couple more times before it's done.

Like I said, I'm trying to get my $12 worth of amusement out of the movie. This discussion, unfortunately for Cameron, is more entertaining than the movie.

Exactly!!! Why cant people just not enjoy movies for what they are like you say. To bash this film is stupidity in my mind its completely groundbreaking (and no i don't mean the story) but just such an enjoyable 2hrs 45mins of pure entertainment

There were good and bad humans in this film like there were in District 9 and many other films. The soldiers and esp Col. Q were the ones portrayed the worst, but mainly because they belittled the Na'vi's entire existence. The corporation and Ribisi were not good people, but they at least gave the idea of diplomacy a chance.

It does suck when threads go this way but what can you do? i'm not arsed if anyone didn't like it i did so they can say and do what they want.

It's funny, like the people who bashed TDK and said it was only good because of Ledger. People like to hate on films, especially films that the majority of the people who watched it enjoyed, so no skin off my back.

I like sci-fi/ special effects pictures, and I generally like Cameron's movies. I am fully able to enjoy mindless entertainment ... and do, frequently. My favorite picture of the year was hardly some artsy fartsy European thing ... it was Star Trek.

This was not enjoyable. The characters were one-dimensional, and the story was just boring.

Honestly , I don't care what anybody else thinks about this movie. I absolutley loved it and so did a hell of alot of people. Theres always people who don't like a movie no matter how good it is and theres always some one who loves a movie no matter how bad it is.
It happens with everything , I went to see all the District 9 with my dad and he thought it was terrible whereas I loved it.

I like to see people complaining in these threads really , I find it interesting to see what they didn't like and honestly some points I agree with them on about this movie. I would understand if they simply said " This film sucks " over and over but there not doing that. There giving reasons as to why they don't like the movie and on alot of forums it would simply be just bashing.
Thats why I spend most if not all of my time here.

One thing I will say though is that I'm glad JC is making so much money with this money , regardless of what people think I think its fair to say he poured all his energy and heart into this one and hes proud of it.

I'm not one of those guys. I do not dislike movies just because they're popular ... but I do dislike them when they're drivel. The Dark Knight is one of my top ten of all time ... along with Raiders of the Lost Ark, Die Hard, Gladiator, The Matrix, The Departed, Star Trek, Jurassic Park, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc. These are hardly unpopular niche "films" ... virtually every one was an action/effects blockbuster.

SnakeDoc

No kidding, JC left film making for 12 years to come back and have yet another money-making wonder. He knows how to get butts in seats...
