This would be way better as a smaller vehicle. I know the others are 1/6 but this is too long

It’s one of those things with a cartoon bought to life. I’m OK with any of jazz interpretation or artist design bringing this into a realistic creation of his own. I’m OK with, because that looks freaking epic and these renders will definitely be a hell of a display and adjustment because of the size. I would certainly without a doubt order this day one. interesting enough kit has a pre-order from this third-party company S hero Batman, the animated series 6 scale figure I actually ordered one in anticipation of this vehicle announcement. FYI.

I've learned to never underestimate how popular Batman is, but I'll be stunned if this gets enough orders to go through. Even the Jedi Starfighter--which everyone seemingly was clamoring for--didn't get enough preorders, but they made the decision to take a chance and produce it anyway.
At least with cars, the space is somewhat manageable.

With planes (BatWing, Star Fighter), there was probably more buyers remorse due to the size.

I’ve limited my air vehicle purchases to just the BatWing so far. I feel like the X-Wing is more iconic than the Star Fighter.

I love B:TAS and I love seeing this Batmobile in action.

BUT...it's an "impossible" object. It can't exist in real life in the proportions it does on the show.

It has an incredibly slim canopy, but when it opens, it's spacious enough for Batman and a passenger.

If you built a car with these exact dimensions around a space for two 12 inch figures to sit comfortably, but still maintain that tiny canopy, the result would be enormous.

The other option is to make a "faux" canopy that doesn't really function and then a larger area that opens up to actually get the figures in.

I just don't think it'll work at this scale. Look how small and slim the cockpit/canopy is, and then imagine two 1/6 figures sitting side by side underneath it.

I’m going to wait and see what Joost comes up with for the specs and pricing, but I don’t see this being a large edition size. It may even be the smallest yet.

I think there are lots of people in that facebook group that vote for these things just to participate in the “popularity contest”, but they don’t have the intention and/or the means to actually make a purchase. There’s also a large number of people that have just paid big money for the 1989. Following that up with a significantly less popular vehicle is going to pull from a much smaller consumer base. Throw in a bad economy, and that doesn’t help, either.

If Joost is going to commit to this, regardless of how many preorders come in, then I’m probably in. If not, I think there’s a real chance that this gets canceled.

Time will tell.
This is the 💯 truth of the mater. Everyone on that group, especially the FB portal, loves to boast about what they want and what they'll "support".

I really wanted the '97 Batmobile to complete the movie lineup. I actually have seen the Tumbler in person at multiple stores and will buy sometime down the line. I own every Batman project as I just love the products.

I'm likely, 90% not buying this because while I do love the animated series, I just don't see the point of this one when there are no 1/6 toys to have fun with, it would be mezco or 3rd parties that aren't quite there yet. Perhaps it's an investment for the future but I'll save for the next one.

On a side not, to be honest, the wishlist chat is garbage, full of people who'll likely never support a project but just want to be seen. I've been trying to get a Tony Stark project happening but people would rather suggest things that are impractical or Star Wars that never gets pre-ordered. /endrant

Is the Animated Batmobile blue or black?

Based on the pics you posted, the shading looks more like blue. I forget if this was addressed before.

My old DC Direct is matte black but the new Mezco 5POA line on PO has more of a dark navy blue tone.

I really hope Jazz sticks to the exterior being faithful to the shows design. It makes zero sense that this car should be remixed when all the other vehicles got the accurate treatment. It being from an animated property should have no effect on it. It's like people suggesting that the 89 get random details added. Makes no sense. If people don't want a faithful version of it, they simply don't need to buy it. Making it more "realistic" so that it's some fan made version of it is not the way to go. You can detail up the interior since it's not something you really see in the show but the exterior should be accurate.

It's officially black. The animated series used the blue to have it stand out from the background. That said, if Jazz can incorporate the blue highlights into the paintjob somehow, that would be pretty awesome. Maybe with some pearlescent effect? Something close to this:

Blue pearlescent would look amazing, although I agree with @Otomofan that it's simply too big at 1/6. They'd have to fudge the proportions which doesn't make sense. Can we get 1/10? 1/8?

I kinda like the idea of making it more realistic in subtle ways. I think that would make it fit in with other vehicles at that scale. It would also stop it from looking like a big box with lots of empty space. I love the design but a more realistic take would look amazing if done well

Compare that to TNBA design, which IMO, is the superior looking Batmobile. Still interested in what JazzInc comes up with though. I hope people really do buy the hell out of it so even MORE Batmobile projects continue to happen, preferably this one! It would be the most challenging one yet.

Woah where is that accidentally posted Batmissile image from and is that the actual model used in the film.

I love the BTAS Batmobile, but I'd much rather they focus on movie vehicles for now, like Batman Return's Batskiboat.

I’m guessing this is going to be like over 4 feet long. That puts me out unless he goes with a modified version.

I too thought the 97 would have made sense just to finish the live Batmobiles.

After that then various Batcave dioramas would have been nice especially 66 and 89. Heck even a Arkham diorama would be fun for the various villain figures. Themed cells for each villain or accessories to theme them if you want.

If the Animated Batmobile is 4 Feet, it may not fit in a DF120.

I believe the DF120 is 46 inches in length for the inner dimensions.

Maybe if the vehicle is positioned at an angle? Or use a MAX140?

If anyone can pull off a "realistic" version of this cartoon car, it's Joost. That's going to be a huge challenge, and you've got to be impressed that he's not backing down from it. The more I think about this being somewhat realistic, the more I find myself open to the idea. I'm not yet sold - but I'm less opposed to it than I was when I first heard about it.

For sure, there are a lot of obstacles in delivering this one. Aside from the massive amount of creativity this is going to take to pull that off, there's also going to be that on-going tension created between those that want the purity of the cartoon, and those that want some reality. Hopefully, whatever comes of this will please the majority of those who wanted it. That said, it is batman after all, and with that comes a pretty particular crowd, so who really knows.

I do think that, in this case, there will be fewer pre-orders made until the time that the production prototype is shown. I did the same thing with the 95 and didn't order until I saw the final prototype video. Everything else I ordered was purchased in the first few moments of the sale. My gut tells me it will be the same situation with this as it was with the 95 - the final prototype will be the catalyst for a significant percentage of new orders.

Regardless, I agree with several of the other folks that have posted a desire to finish out the live action film batmobiles, or even the other live action vehicles (boat, copter, etc). That would have been my first choice.

I own the 1/6 BvS Justice mobile, 1/6 batwing and have the '89 batmobile(all by Jazzinc) on order. Personally, I'm excited since this is the only other 1/6 Batmobile I want in my collection. I have the 1/12 version from DC Collectibles and its great but a 1/6 scale version will be insane. I don't think this has been set in stone yet, but fingers crossed he'll make it happen. Definitely a day one PO for me.
But first transfer the awesome starting gif/image to the other usurper thread,
