Your collection is looking great Jen! Did you put glass doors on a BILLY? NICE!!

Yeah I have the glass doors which are really nice. The only thing that kinda bums me out is that I can't display anything in the middle of my shelves because then it is covered up by the doors....but they look so much better with the glass.

Got a new shelving unit at IKEA - they finally had some Besta's in!!! :) The taller cabinet that I got did not come with glass doors but they had smaller ones that did. I have all my large Marvel pieces in them that wouldn't fit in my other shelves. The top right space is awaiting the arrival of Capt. America.

I finally got my Kroenen sword mounted on my wall.

Yeah!! I'm totally happy with these new shelves!!!!

Looking good, Jen. Hulk really dwarfs those Ghost Rider maquettes!

Besides Captain America, what else is coming? Your collecting seems to have really slowed down...not that that's a bad thing.

So far just Capt. and Darkness....and hopefully the Thor vs. Loki piece whenever that thing finally comes out.....I'm saving a shelf or two for hopefully some new Hellboy pieces when the second movie comes out.....It's pretty much all Hellboy and Marvel for me....so until Sideshow starts releasing some new figures, I'm on standby. Which actually has been a bit of a blessing because I'm finally getting some bills paid off. :)

I always like looking at your collection Jen. Awesome variety.

I've got a question for you as a collector. I don't know what you paid for your Ikea shelves but if you could find a display cabinet that was lit, glass shelves, full glass doors, without the view obstructing wood frame in the middle, and you could actually pick the color of stain on the wood, what would you pay? Let's say for one about 60" tall and 36" wide.

Just curious.:D I'll be making a few of these for myself in various sizes and I'm wondering if other collectors would be interested in it. Since your one of the few I've actually seen buy their shelving specifically for their collection I'd like your input, please.:monkey3

BESTA...Is that the one that also comes in black? The one that was previously only available overseas?

Is this the BESTA or another unit?

Sweet, looks like I'll be taking a trip to IKEA this weekend, I'm buying Three!!!

Thanks Loki!! :rock

No problem. These do look really great. I may end up putting my Marvel collection in these and keeping the SW 12" in the entertainment center.

I paid around $160 for the Besta shelves. My other (smaller cabinet that does have glass doors) was around the same price I believe. It's hard to say how much I would spend on a cabinet.....I like IKEA because I've never had any problems with them and they are reasonable priced. Once I finally get around to buying a place (which could be awhile) I would like to splurge on some really nice shelves or preferably have shelves built in......I suppose pricing would depend on the quality of wood, it's appearance and craftsmanship.......I would be very interested to see photos of your cabinets when they are completed! :D :D :D

OooOOoOoo.. Black..

How sturdy are these shelves?.. Says they can hold about 66 pounds per?..

Any way we can get a pic of the shelf brackets?.. Also Im assuming these get fixed to the wall?..

These shelves seem very sturdy to me. I don't have time right now to take a pic of the shelf bracket but can do it after I get back into town. The brackets or those typical metal pegs that stick out and hold the bottom of the shelf. However for shelves that will be carrying more weight they come with brackets that you screw in for extra support. There are also wall brackets of course to mount it to the wall. I haven't put my wall brackets in yet. With Hulk on that bottom shelf that cabinet it incredibly sturdy. I think my whole apartment would have to come crumbling down before that baby would tip over.

Thanks for the 411..

Thanks for the info Jen! That helps. As soon as I have time to start the cabinet I'll begin posting pics of the progress.

Great collection Jen, especially for having started only in November. I love Lord Of The Rings myself. I've got the Sideshow 12" Aragorn, Legolas, and Boromir figures. I've got a few of the smaller Toy Biz LOTR figures too, and the official "one-sheet" movie posters for each movie.

Hey, Adam (cocoboloboy) I may be interested in one of those toy cabinets you're talking about making! But please check your private messages for a PM from me tonight about an AlIENS marines shelf I'd love for you to make for me. Thanks!

Thanks! :rock :rock I love the LOTR figures/statues too....even though I've switched over to Hellboy and Marvel, I don't think I'll ever part with LOTR....they are what got me started with collecting.
