Well, my Mom wants to go with me and she hates 3D. Gives her headaches sometimes. I've had to forgo the last few 3D movies I wanted to see. :(

I saw it earlier and it was AWESOME! :rock :rock

Boring? No way. Slow paced? I didn't think so, I thought the pacing was great.

I loved the 3D effects and the SFX were very cool! I went in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised and had a lot of fun! :yess:

Even better in IMAX if you can see it that way.

Well, you'll have the glasses on so you should be ok. :yess:

I was. :lol

:woo Awesome! Hopefully this will get the green light! :rock  :yess:

I hope so too!

Went today with my kids and we all loved it.
Great movie, lots of action and good, thoughtful moments. Wasn't just a run of the mill summer pop corn movie, but rather had a lot of heart.
I hope it does well.

I went in with very low expectations...

...and ended up really liking it a lot. It's a good, solid movie. Great production (this is one of those movies where you can see all of the money on the screen), well-rendered effects, solid and enthusiastic performances(the lead had to work hard to convince me in this part but by the end of it he had), good score, decently paced (never looked at the time during it's run) and...no spoiler to say that while it's left open for further adventures, it also works as a stand-alone movie.

Now, I saw it in 2D (my preference) and I thought it looked and sounded great. Sadly though, there were only about ten other people in the theater. I hope good word-of-mouth helps this movie. It's another example for me how I end up really enjoying something that most mainstream critics just used to sharpen their claws on.

If this movie bombs, the folks at Disney should dump their clueless publicity department (the promos for this have been bloody awful)...everyone involved in actually making this movie was obviously into creating something special and it shows...

Great film....I'll see it on the big screen again!

100% agree here, except my theater was pretty full for a noon showing, but then again, we Utahns love a good Disney flick, plus it helped a lot of the film was filmed here too.

I thought this looked awful from the trailers, but was surprised how good it was. Disney's marketing team for this film needs to be shot because they aren't doing the film any favors. Plus no toys either means they really didn't have a lot faith in it. Disney loves to merchandise the crap out of everything!

John Carter keeps growing on me LOL.

Me and my dad are going to see this tomorrow in the morning, hes facinated by the story and how the original books were written so long ago. I went to the Imax 3D mighnight show and Loved it!! So were going!! I hope he likes it!!

It sucks the weekend will be on the lower side of the expectations but i cant say im suprised. Mainstream critics flopped it but i feel theres gonna be a solid fan base for John Carter, i hope Disney sees that and possibly considers green lighting a sequel. But if not, John Carter was good enough and stands alone for the most part.

If they somehow had the technology and tried to make the movie a couple years ago i bet it would of been a bigger hit. John Carter mabey had some minor editing issues in terms of story but it had alot of heart!!! I also think the Budget rumors we have hear a little inflated, yes it was a big blockbuster movie but i think Disney could do sequels on a more contained production, i enjoyed the movie i want more!!! Im going to the library tomorrow and seeing if they have the books!!!

Glad to hear you loved it, dude! :yess:

:D :yess:

I loved at the end when the title appeared "John Carter"..."of Mars" :rock :rock :rock

That was really great! We just saw him changing from John Carter to John Carter of Mars and that was really cool! :rock

Saw him the first showing.

I was raised reading the book and this movie is well done! Go see it...

Very entertaining movie! Went with my GF and she loved it too, especially the alien dog.

I saw John Carter yesterday and absolutely loved the film. I knew very little of the story going in except that it was based on ERB's book series and I was thoroughly entertained the whole time. The CGI was excellent as was the story and all the actors did a great job imo.

This movie in my view is in the same vein of many of the blockbusters of my youth like Star Wars: A New Hope, Indiana Jones, Superman, etc. When I left the theater after seeing John Carter, I felt as though I had seen something special that really resonated with me which is much the same way that I felt after seeing the movies mentioned above. John Carter requires the viewer to have an imagination and embrace it as you are watching the film. Something a lot of today's movie critics can't seem to handle.

Often times today people go to a movie and spend too much time analyzing every little piece of it to see if makes sense and if it is believable and if it isn't they discard the movie as a bomb. John Carter invites you to enter the world on screen and stay a while. It speaks to that imaginative spirit inside us and asks us to take the journey set before us in the film. I encourage anyone who harkens back to the days when going to the movies was fun and special to check this movie out and give it a chance and if you are willing to let your imagination run free you will have a blast.

I only hope Disney's miserable marketing campaign and the poor reviews from most of the ignorant and self absorbed movie critics haven't hobbled the chances for this movie to be a success becasue it deserves to be one. I hope we get a sequel because I, for one, want to spend more time in John Carter's world. I'll be seeing this movie again in the theater. 8.5/10

Good film. Much better then I expected. I didn't know anything about this character before the movie. So glad I seen it. And 3d was great

Just got back from my second screening. Took my girlfriend, who was not very excited to see John Carter, and she loved it! Mission accomplished. Now I just have to convince almost everyone else I know to go and watch it.
