Universal has confirmed that not only has Jurassic World retained its #1 position at the weekend box office it now holds the top spot for 2nd weekend grosses with $106.6M, beating former record holder Marvel's The Avengers and its $103.1M in 2012.

It's little suspicious, because the same thing happened last week when JW "beat" the Avengers opening weekend. Marvel probably doesn't care though.

Took my 6 year old to see the 3D version this weekend, her mouth was open so wide through the second half, I could have thrown popcorn in it to pass the time. She could not stop talking about it afterwards either. For me, I still think the best "Jurassic" scene was the original T Rex encounter, but I enjoyed "World" more on whole.

I've never seen people be so happy about money that won't even be going into their pockets. So weird.

How is that any different than rooting for the success of anyone else? Whether it be a sports team victory, various awards, etc.? It's what people do, when you like some performer's work you enjoy seeing them rewarded for it. Well some of us do anyway.

How is that any different than rooting for the success of anyone else? Whether it be a sports team victory, various awards, etc.? It's what people do, when you like some performer's work you enjoy seeing them rewarded for it. Well some of us do anyway.

Sports teams I get, especially if it's a home team or your city.

Movies though? I'm just happy if they make enough profit to warrant a sequel.

She didn't give a **** about her family. She went to go spend eternity on the boat. Probably hoped that the diamond would find its way back down there so she could do more nude drawings with a guy she knew for a couple of days.

He gave her such terrible lines too.

"Waiting to live, waiting to die, waiting for a resolution that would never come" or whatever.

The whole deep ocean of secrets quote that I won't even stoop to type in full. She would have made a great MCU villain with her non-threatening demeanor and propensity for melodramatic speeches.
